Please everyone don't buy- this game will be half price in 2 months

magiciandude4125d ago

I won't even buy this game if it's 10 dollars. There are too many games out there more suited to my tastes. The DLC practices certainly doesn't help with increasing my interest in this game, either.

i can live without playing this sh!t
and beside theres other upcoming good games this month and the next

i bet this game(evolve) will be forgotten in a month or 2

I hope it "Evolves" into a failure.

"Here’s Hoping Evolve’s DLC Practices Don’t Become the Norm"

Is this a joke? The industry is plagued with DLC, and has been since half way through last generation. I'm at least happy to see that people are starting to get fed up with DLC.

re2_apocalypse4125d ago

I agree that DLC has become the norm; but the people in 2015 still can't for some illogical reason can't understand that they don't have to buy DLC. I hardly if ever buy any. I can obtain the Platinum's in games without it, and still enjoy the game without spending more. If you want the extra content, it is there; if not DON'T FU**ING BUY IT!

That where the problem may be, they will keep milking us. And then the games we love will cut out more and more content. Remember when we had to beat the gMe on a harder difficulty or just unlock costumes etc.? Or when we had to put in codes for cheats, instead of buying the, now.

Season passes are the norm... This game has a season pass... What is different is it has 130 dollars of day one dlc... This is completely different. But for some reason you'd rather defend this practice by simply saying "don't buy it" but you have in fact contributed to the problem by voting with your wallet

re2_apocalypse4125d ago (Edited 4125d ago )

@Tankbusta40

I did vote with my wallet; I decided to buy a game I'm interested in playing, not a game based on their business practices or DLC I have no interested in.

The problem again if I voted correctly in "my" choice with "my" own wallet from money I earn? Apparently, things are only a "problem" when they don't agree with another individual who sees the world in their eyes and not in theirs.

This is a very true fact for those in the know like many of us here. What really didnt help the fight against greedy DLC practice is the cesspool of iap that is the mobile gaming space. Many of our publishers dabble in that and they see the minimal investment of core product with addictive mechanics and the huge returns from the iap. And so now they want to take it to the console platforms, this is the type of future that is coming if we dont buck up and stick to our guns.

DLC should stick to added story content. GTA IV did it well with Ballad of Gay Tony and Lost and the Damned. Each one had plenty of bang for your buck and some damned effort put into it. That I would pay for.

The best DLC I've gotten is Storm Island for Forza Horizon 2, it was a bit expensive but so much content.

Also the Piggy DLC from Enslaved, it told its own story of a lonely pig/man and his only friend, with a totally different gameplay style to that of Monkey.

One you can't take the "don't buy it because you don't have too" stance its old, lame and means nothing. Two gamers aren't really resistant to DLC. I would happily buy DLC if it adds value and content to the game. What gamers are tired of is DLC that is announced before the game releases. We're tired of chunks of the core game content either locked away on disc or stripped from the game for DLC. The only way the practices put into place in this game is unfortunately for this game to become a failure. If it succeeds everyone will follow suit. We as gamers will buy DLC, we know devs need to make money but it can't be at the expense of our experience in the game and it can't be normal practice to lock half the game away behind a pay wall.

The grand total cost of the DLC for this game alone is way more than all the money I've spent on DLC in my entire life. That same money would net me multiple games at full retail and even cover the taxes. That's just disgusting. If this game is a commercial success, DLC and all, a very bleak future of gaming will be way sooner than we're realizing right now.
