GI:

Multiple sources tell us that Electronic Arts' experimental project, Shadow Realms, has come to a close. The title, part of the 4v1 trend, was in development at BioWare Austin.

i wouldn't be surprised

the interest level for this game seems to be non-existent.

vishmarx4129d ago

i still remember all those emails lol

zeal0us4129d ago (Edited 4129d ago )

Well guess it has indeed been cancel according to EA and update on gameinformer.

Truthfully I wasn't too excited when this title was announce and surely won't miss it. However given the lack of news for the game, I was knew this was bound to happen.

Relientk774129d ago

Aw that sucks the teasers looked sorta cool, like the movie Chronicle, bunch of teens getting super powers

-Foxtrot4129d ago

Movie was pretty average....good concept just pulled it off horribly.

DarkOcelet4129d ago

But the game's concept was not, 4 VS 1 after all those cool teasers. I was expecting a Mass Effect storytelling style game but with superpowers and whatnot.

mezati994129d ago

Good, let them make a true Single player game, that's what they're good at

-Foxtrot4129d ago

Your not wrong

Some devs are single player guys others are multiplayer ones. Few great devs can do both

They tried it in ME3 and despite being good at first you easily got bored of it after a short while. It got boring and repetitive.

They could of used those resources to make then ending better or to finish the Omega content they then made into DLC since it wasn't finished on time.

LAWSON724128d ago (Edited 4128d ago )

ME3 multiplayer had me and 3 friends coming back for almost a year. We would take a month hiatus and come back for two or so weeks. A fantastic mode that certainly shows Bioware can a make coop/mp mode.

DAI is not half bad either online, it is pretty much a copy paste of the mode in ME, however I am not a huge fan of DA combat compared to ME.

Godmars2904129d ago

Yes. But somehow you make more money by spending tons of money on a project that relies on community/fan bonds, *if* you can get a larger enough community together within a given time.

getrektedmate4129d ago (Edited 4129d ago )

That sucks...

-Foxtrot4129d ago

Oh well

Some titles like this just make you go "Ok" and let you easily move on

10 Canceled Video Games None of Us Will Ever Get to Play

Lots of video games get canceled due to studio closures, lack of resources, and other issues, but we would have loved to play these 10 canceled games.

Not only was P.T. an awesome demo, but just the way it was dropped on us and eventually revealed as Silent Hills was one of those really special moments in gaming. I don't even want to be reminded of it now.

PhantomS422570d ago

Konami screwed up. They could easily cut the Silent Hills ending cutscene and sell it for 5/10 bucks and I would easily buy it again. The demo was tons of fun and terrifying each time, I loved to make friends play

NecrumOddBoy2570d ago (Edited 2570d ago )

Plot Twist: PT was a tease, Silent Hills was fake, the Konami fallout was staged, and Death Stranding is actually Metal Gear Solid VI. 🤯 #kojimawoulddothis

KwietStorm_BLM2570d ago

That would be the long con to end them all, but I don't know if even Kojima would do all that. Then again, Metal Gear Solid 2 was a thing.

King_Noctis2570d ago

It would be one hell of a story to tell.

PhantomS422570d ago

No Agent, that's a pretty easy one to get on this list.

Iceball20002570d ago

2 days to Vegas and 8 days ooh and Agent

KyRo2570d ago

I just want a Getaway 3. I mean Sony has nailed the cinematic, open world genre for a while now. A return to the Getaway with the tech they got now would be so good

LOOK_AT_THIS_I2570d ago

Six Days in Fallujah was a game I would have been interested to see how it would have turned out. SOCOM like tactical shooter with destructive environments. Lots of work on it and then it was just scrapped.

One of the first casualties of the early outcry mobs.

Eight most promising looking games that were cancelled

In this article, we try to list eight cancelled games that looked the most promising. Before we start, if you haven’t already, be sure to read this list over cancelled games, too.

Phil323662d ago

Mega Man Legends 3 is the one cancelled game that sucked the most for me. Blaming it on the fans was a real jerkish move, too.

TGG_overlord3661d ago

Well, ain´t that the truth of the day...

Promising? Maybe they sounded good, but, for instance, Redwood Falls and Shadow Realms never saw the light of day because they weren't anything exceptional. The tragic ones are the ones like Star Wars 1313, which was cancelled because of Disney's buyout of Star Wars, or Insane, which was cancelled because THQ was going out of business. I can only guess that Agent, Eight Days, and Starcraft Ghosts never made it anywhere because they didn't live up to expectations. Maybe they weren't any good, maybe they were too ambitious, maybe the tech at the time couldn't support them . . . we simply don't know.

I was once excited for the Pirates of the Caribbean game, Armada of the Damned, but chances are it was cancelled because it wasn't living up to expectations, so there's really no point in being letdown by it.

Great read;I'm still sad about silent hills & star wars 1313. Hopefully one day both games see the light of day.
