Considering that the Arkham series is my absolute favorite. Considering there were added effects, enhanced graphics and better sound in the higher settings PC version, Id' say yes for those of us that want them!

Arkham origins on PS3 suffered frame rate issues and had fairly long load times. AC on PS3, had stereo sound for the BGM. I would love to not only play "proper" versions of those games, but also I would like to record gameplay, add custom soundtracks (I know the PS3 AC you could) and shareplay with my brother who is also a very big fan of the series.

So yes....PLEASE. It's not like you are forced to buy them. Video games are best in the highest res/sound quality they can be.
Not to mention, would anyone (after seeing GTA V) like to see Red Dead Redemption on PS4? Sign me the fuqup

Examples of excellent remastered games would be gta5, TLOU, tomb raider and Metro redux. Every other remaster so far are just lazy quick cash grabbing shitty ports that isn't even worth $40, yet they charge full price??! Lol! Those are the remasters I have issues with...

spacedelete4134d ago

the problem isn't the remasters themselves its the other stuff like how overpricedthey are or they don't have more than one game yet still charge full price and also the lack of actual next gen releases. most aren't even remasters and straight up port jobs with little to no effort applied to the remaster.

But the point is that people still buy them, so who is really hurt by these releases? It's a good investment for many developers who have been in the red or need to pay for the other product their audience is clamoring for. If people buy these games for the price and the content offered, then there's really no problem, and it will likely continue in the same manner.

Remaster meh, I would love to see a remake of Final Fantasy VII

These people who hype up the reasoning behind re-masters for this-gen console are the same people who wished their fave old game be available again in some form or another..

..pathetic.

jlfleur4134d ago

I suppose you're right. Why wouldn't I want to see a remake/re-imagining/remaster of a favorite title regardless of age? For one, I would love to see Metal Gear Solid remade using the Fox Engine. It probably won't happen any time soon, but that doesn't mean it's impossible, especially since Hideo Kojima is actively seeking developers.

I think there are a lot of people who have favorite stories or experiences from older games who want to see them again. Just look at our fellow commenters. What's so "pathetic" about wanting to relive those experiences in new and rewarding ways through the power of newer technology?
