WoW has been Surpassed

Over seas gamers, namely the Asian population are enjoying a game which Americans have not been able to get their hands on. It is an MMO that is created by the Korean company Webzen then sold to THE9. The game is called Soul of the Ultimate Nation which has been changing the way people look at MMO's the world over.

Those look just like Lord of the Rings. They could get sued for that.

jazzking20016506d ago

you may have a good point lol

rroded6506d ago

this is the best looking game ive ever seen cant believe its a mmo
anyone know where we can find some hd gamefootage?

Sevenfeetunder6506d ago

I am pretty sure those are cutscenes, but I could be wrong.

Fishy Fingers6506d ago

Yes they're cut scenes. Plenty of trailers here > http://www.gametrailers.com...

iamtehpwn6506d ago

Prerendered CGI cutscene =]

Shortstop6506d ago

Looks almost as identical as that game that ripped off Oblivion. Cutscenes or not, that's clearly ripping off LoTR.

Panthers6506d ago

I think that it is LOTR. I mean there is no way that it couldnt be. Perhaps just some Japanese version of it. Still, it is def. LoTR.

fusionboxer6505d ago

But I highly doubt this surpasses that drug of a game World of Warcraft.

My main doubt being that most korean based mmo's tend to be grind a thons with no end in sight.

DirtyLary6505d ago

An American company can sue a company in Korea? hmm

Twilightx76505d ago

Never heard of International Copyright Law? Doesn't matter if it's a company in Korea, New Line could sue the pants off of them for what is obviously a blatant rip off of not only graphical content, but entire camera cuts and battle scenes, which have been replicated with MINIMAL changes. I seriously doubt this falls under any sort of parody law either.

jidery6505d ago

Wow hasnt been surpassed, sure this got better graphics but hey wow gots more player and probly better producters

Proportionally, WOW is OWNING!!!

Seriously though...

...that IS the Lord of the Rings.

How do you miss that?

mesh16505d ago

good action animation and moves but lacks the depth of wow nice 3d looking graphics but lacks the art direction of wow and the game just look baron compared to wow landscapes in th eend not for the west.

moses6506d ago

That looks like absolutely nothing special. MMO's need a big ass overhaul in gameplay and mechanics if they want to become even remotely enjoyable.

REbirth6506d ago

thats why WoW owns them all xD

Leathersoup6505d ago

Agree 100%. World of Warcraft is not owning because it has stunning graphics. It's owning because it's "accessible". It has a learning curve which makes it great for new players. It can run on virtually every PC out there.
This game will be a flash in the pan. Seeing as it's being developed by a Korean company it's quite probable that the game play will involve a ton of grinding and the story won't be up to snuff.

Voiceofreason6505d ago

Around 15 million people find them enjoyable. Even WoW manages around 10 million on its own.I doubt 10 million people pay 14.95 a month to play a game they consider complete crap.

JoelR6505d ago

@ 3.2
"Agree 100%. World of Warcraft is not owning because it has stunning graphics. It's owning because it's "accessible". "

Accessible? maybe for the first 30-40 levels - after that it's all grind for days to get this or that item.

GRINDS MUST GO

Leathersoup6505d ago

I explained, in my comment, as to why it was accessible. The ability to run it on virtually any PC (or MAC) first allows it to be "accessed" by more people. Then the fact that it starts you off quite gradually helps people who aren't usually into video games get a hang of how the character is played.

As for the grind? It's possible to get a character from level 1 to level 70 purely by doing quests. Admittedly as far as quests go, there are only a few different types of quest mechanics available. This is one of those areas, however, that Blizzard has been quite inventive.

The only other game that I can think of that comes close to Blizzard in quest mechanics is Lord of the Rings Online. The quests that you do in the shire with mail and pie delivery stand out as my favorite over every MMO I've played so far.

solar6506d ago

the reason why WoW is so widely played is because it runs on an arse load of PC's. judging by that....not so much.

Voiceofreason6505d ago

You have to have a pretty old PC to not be able to play WoW. Sad though that most games announced for PC have specs beyond what the normal PC owners have. Then they say that PC gaming is dead because they made a game that only 10% of PC owners could play.Crisis comes to mind.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio1d 16h ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing1d 14h ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster921d 15h ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit1d 14h ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing1d 14h ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster921d 12h ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse

Tanktopmaster921d 12h ago

Let me be clear. This is sarcasm
