It's great to see this original adventure find its way to other consoles, because it's a treat.
South of Midnight developer Compulsion Games is currently working on a "fascinating and intriguing" new IP.
It's clearly not literal irony, more like the Alanis Morissette version of irony. I think perhaps its describing the new game as fascinating and intriguing, which could vaguely insinuate that this is a change from previous titles. Outside that, not entirely sure, but somewhere in that vein is what I assume they were thinking.
was intrigued by the first one but the execution was a bit lacking, hopefully they can improve on that.

I just finished South of Midnight. I think it’s a solid AA, even though the combat could have been a bit deeper. I love a cross-over between South of Midnight and Psychonauts.
That'd be a really interesting crossover, mechanically. Like Hazel's "weaver self" can jump into the minds of Prospero locals struggling with trauma.
Doesn’t have to be pretext. I like the fact this game has its own identity. I cannot wait to try it
Putting aside the game for a moment, anyone else find it wild we're considering an 8/10 to be a 'flawed' game? lol
Well, considering 10 would be a "masterpiece", if you're taking two points off, there would have to be at least a COUPLE flaws, right?
The writing is so good at certain parts and than it will just turn around and drop the ball so hard. None of her comments towards the notes she reads are interesting and half the time they don't actually fit with the context of what was written. I am on Chapter 11 and finding it very hard to push myself to finish it at this point. Also I understand what they are going for but the way they present the mistreatment of folks is about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face. Could have been done a bit better.
Never played Contrast what did you people think of it?
I'm going to wait until it's really cheap to pick it up, but I tried it on PlayStation now an I really enjoyed it.
I liked Contrast, so I hope their next game is cool and unique too
