I think it will still be a beautiful game, and I also wonder if it because of the size of the game that that could possibly be attributed to it being 720p. Either way 300 plus hours, who really can complain?

Most games still look great in 720p. This game is pushing the Wii U to its limits wuth its size and gameplay alone. I am looking forward to it...

Why do developers tell about resolution/frames before the game release? It only hurt them (tho in this case it wont, since the game audience isnt CoD audience)

Pro-controller is the way to go for a game like Xenoblade Chronicles X. There's no way I'm holding a gamepad for 300+ hours.

Too bad Nintendo didn't design a better console, considering that the Wii U released in 2012, the specs and features are really mediocre. It's clear that Nintendo bet everything on the gamepad, at the expense of the base console specs; just look at all the Nintendo promo pics of the console, the gamepad is out in front, taking all the attention, and the console is in the background, like an afterthought. That's a perfect illustration of how Nintendo views the Wii U, the gamepad is its biggest feature, and the console is just there to support the gamepad, not much more.

The gamepad alone doesn't make up for the meager Wii U specs, and the console is never going to be able to compete with the true next-gen consoles (PS4 and XB1), sadly. Had they released it in 2005, it would have been great, but for a 2012 release console, it really falls way short.

On the Wii U I don't think 720p is as big of an issue. It has some of the best texture compression in the industry. Look at how good Nano Neo Assault looks at only 81MB.

This game is 400sqkm. 300 hours of gameplay. Zelda U is supposed to be larger. Nintendo claims Zelda is the size of Kyoto. So give or take 300 square miles. Twice the size of XCX.

For those complaining. There will be plenty to explore this year and worlds to get lost in on Wii U. Resolution won't matter much when having a blast.

I would like to point out that this game is about 10 times larger than Skyrim and still running 720p 60 FPS. These haters love to bash the Wii U, the way they did the Gamecube, and yet 10 to 15 years from now you will be paying 50 to 100 dollars for this system, like the gamecube, and paying 100 to 200 dollars for this game if youre lucky enough to find it. Hell my copy of mario sunshine is worth 50 to 75 dollars right now.

So make fun and critisize all you want. History will prove again in the future that Nintendo games are what people want to go back to and play, usually when it is too late to enjoy them in the now. So in the meantine I am going to buy this game, play the crap out of its beautiful world, and hang on to it so the idiot that posted first on this thread can pay me 150 bucks for it later. It happens every generation.
