With news of Terraria coming to the Wii U and 3DS, as well as the anticipated Terraria 1.3 patch, SheAttack decides to take a fresh look at the game. Today, Terraria looks like a completely different than it did when it was released back in 2011; not to mention it continually got a lot of flack for being the "2D Minecraft clone".
Is Terraria really just a 2D Minecraft clone, or is it something more?

Mojang has partnered with Merlin Entertainments to build the world's first Minecraft theme park in the UK.

Ben Porter from Newzoo explains that the player base has very little overlap with mainstream hits such as Assassin's Creed: Shadows and Ghost of Yōtei
I used to buy cheap games thinking I’d play them later, but I always ended up returning to my favorites. Now I skip the deals unless I know I’ll play the game soon.
This is very true, my nephews grew up on these two games and whenever I introduce them a AAA game whether old or new, it's like seeing an alien try to make sense of it and then quickly lose interest in it.
Can’t really expect a 8 year old Roblox kid to go buy resident evil 9 lol
Gaming trends are so weird to me now. Like, I’m old school and games were consumed essentially how movies were. You play through a title and look forward to the sequel or other things that came out. Now, that is so not the norm.

I enjoy both of these games regularly and they are much more different than people realize. Terraria is a much more complex game to me and takes more time to get used to compared to Minecraft and I like the bosses, especially in hard mode.
Battle of the overrated, boring, repetitive games.
Got Terraria for $6 during a PS sale and it's probably the best $6 I've ever spent on a game.. Liked it a lot. It is so much more centered on Survival/Bossing than even hardmode Minecraft and ton of content too, I'd say moreso than Minecraft. I put in over 100 hours to get to a point where there's nothing to do, not to mention the entire time I was playing with my brother... but we were going for the platinum and got bored on the last two trophies(Armors and Craft stations).
But to each his own, I think Terraria is more centered towards fighting, and Minecraft is more centered towards building. They are far from similar.. only thing that is the same is that you can mine, craft, and build..however, mechanics are different but also quite similar and different cups of tea. But everything else is elements that are in a lot of games.
I like starbound more that terraria but stands heavily uncompleted. Has a lot of potential but like lot of early access games, I dont think its going to be completed anytime soon unfortunately.
All I can say is Minecraft and Hololens will be the next Wii sports of gaming.
