'Groundbreaking FPS' to use Unreal Engine 3

Ignition Entertainment has announced it has entered into an agreement with Epic Games to license Unreal Engine 3 for its upcoming, "groundbreaking FPS" which is currently in development at its Florida studio.

"Epic's Unreal Engine 3 is an extremely versatile engine," said Jeremy Stieglitz, Game Director and Lead Designer, Ignition Florida. "So when deciding on technology for Ignition Florida's first next-generation video game, there was no questioning that Unreal Engine 3 is the way to go."

"Ignition Florida is pushing Unreal Engine 3 in a very exciting direction, especially in terms of environmental capabilities," said Mark Rein, Vice President, Epic Games. "These guys have the chops to create some remarkable games, and we have complete faith in their technical and creative abilities."

Are NOT allowed to be used in the same sentence.

I was gonna say Groundbreaking and FPS, but UE3 I suppose will get you more agrees. I agree with you, UE3 really can't be groundbreaking, and they will really suprise me if they can pull off an original FPS that's not a Halo, COD4 copy.

I logged in to say the same thing. Took the words right from my mouth.

UE3 is NOT ground breaking... its old and played out.

I wish the industry would MOVE ON!

I could have sworn I have heard this statement before...cant remember where or what but am sure I have heard this before. Its always ground breaking when announced but isnt quiet when seen in motion.

To be fair looking at Ignition's track record of only 1 or 2 good games, i fail to see them creating a groundbreaking title. Could be wrong mind.

This is no more than Epic trying to getting good PR on the UE3 engine

sinncross6582d ago

Considering they haven't done a xbox360 game, maybe they'll opt for that, but I thought these guys only published game, not develop them.

oh well

Wildarmsjecht6582d ago

Sigh...another fps..another UE licensed game..another game featuring big burly men with shiny armor and wrinkle lines on their face that resembles twizzlers.

Nice...Can't...<sigh>.. .wait.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing76d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9276d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit76d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing76d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9276d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
