Be The Zombie - Let's Play Dying Light Multiplayer

Hunting squealing cowards Mark Walton and Rob Crossley in Dying Light's Be the Zombie mode is as satisfying as it sounds. Will they destroy five nests before Lead Game Designer Maciej Binkowski rips their throats out? Unlikely.

It's disheartening that this is only for pre-orders, for now, because it seems vital.

Nonetheless, I've pre-ordered anyways. Eight more days.

getrektedmate4148d ago

Cant wait to play it on my xbox one !!!

nucky644148d ago (Edited 4148d ago )

i preordered a good while ago to get all 8 weapons dockets. i was going to get the game anyway. I'm not into the "be the zombie" mode...might be fun but I'm not interested in it now.

edit: has anyone heard if it'll be possible to kill the nasty night-time zombies during the campaign?

getrektedmate4148d ago

Its possible, i would use a gun at night time to shoot down the volatiles (Its somewhat similar to the night hunter which you get if you preorder), using guns at night time wouldn't be a wise choice since you would draw in more of them. That would apply to any weapon that creates loud noise

Another game thats chopped to bits to force pre orders can see this is gonna end up the norm,vs sold seperate but campaign still £60.00.......i'll wait for the bargin bin, pos publishers!!!!

Tried to preorder from amazon but they're out of stock and they seem to be the only ones selling the be the zombie edition in the UK...

AKissFromDaddy4148d ago

That's horrific. There has to be another physical retail store or other e-retailer selling this. Good Luck though.

mike32UK4148d ago

Just double checked, it's definitely amazon only. "amazon exclusive be the zombie edition"... This is one of many things that is wrong with removing a section of a game and pawning it off as a preorder exclusive :(

Anyone else concerned that the most of the vids on this game are on the PC? I know it looks great on the PC and smooth as hell, but I plan on getting this for the PS4. Hopefully it won't be too much of a downgrade.

AKissFromDaddy4148d ago

It's because it's 60FPS on PC, while locked at 30FPS on PS4 and Xbox One.

30 FPS looks great in real life but not through video players, in comparison to 60FPS footage though.

Yet, I completely understand your concern.

Maxor4148d ago (Edited 4148d ago )

I hate it how devs would publish great gameplay vids on the PC to hype the game then pull a huge downgrade on the console. It's bullshit. The signs of PC graphics are everywhere, the 1st give away is the consistent and high resolution texture quality. The second is the very high frame rate.

I'm even more worried now that I realized that the PS4 vids I've seen are actually troll vids of PC gamers shooting footage with a PS4 dualshock. It's really hard to press that preorder button until I see what this game looks like on the PS4.

I understand your concern. Nonetheless, I have a PC and PS4 and I wanted Far Cry 4 for PC because I wanted to play in 60FPS but my friend wanted to play multiplayer on PS4.

So I bought the PS4 version of Far Cry 4, which is 30FPS. With my eyes, if someone showed me the PS4 footage of Far Cry 4 and told me that was PC, I'd believe them because that's how beautiful it looks.

However, if I record footage, the footage never looks as good on video as it does in real life, in comparison to a 60FPS videos. 30FPS videos make video games look worse in comparison to real life gameplay, in my opinion.

Nevertheless, your concerns are noted but I can only share with you my experience with 30FPS and 60FPS real live gameplay vs footage.

Ps nation did a video on the ps4 and it looks great.

isa_scout4148d ago

Man I've been waiting for this game, and I'd never even seen this mode before. My friends and I are gonna have such a great time playing this mode though. It looks super fun, and that almost SpiderMan like zombie movement look awesome.

Allsystemgamer4148d ago

Better have it preordered because that GAME MODE is preorder only and its complete bull

isa_scout4148d ago

Yeah that's complete idiocy. My friends and I have had it preordered for a while now though so it should be fine, but hopefully they release it for everyone soon after launch.

I knew holding off playing it for 10 years was the right call.

ocelot07333d ago

I remember playing this for the first time on the PS4 and it knocking me sick and hurting my eyes due to the horrible motion blur and FPS.

Played it a lot on pc a year later. Then again on ps5 once they dropped the 60fps update. I'll be giving it another go. Mad how they have kept updating this game for 10 years.

Ten Years Later - Still Going Strong: Dying Light: Retouched Update Releasing June 26

Hey Survivors! Tymon here, your favorite Dying Light Franchise Director.

It's been an absolutely wild month here at Techland! We're in the thick of what I'm calling the "Summer of Dying Light," delivering updates and big news across all three Dying Light games. Just a few weeks ago, we dropped the first gameplay for Dying Light: The Beast, revealed its release date, and kicked off pre-orders (if you haven't seen it, check out my last dev blog). I'm incredibly proud of what we're building with The Beast - it’s the culmination of more than 10 years of experience in open-world survival horror!

But here's the thing: we never forget where we came from. That's why, this week, we're not just looking forward - we're rolling out significant updates for both the original Dying Light and Dying Light 2: Stay Human. We promised to support our games for a long time, and we're committed to continuing that support, right through and beyond the launch of Dying Light: The Beast.

Looking Back At The $386,000 Dying Light 'My Apocalypse Edition', 10 Years Later

It has been more than ten years since Dying Light was released, but what happened to the $386,000 'My Apocalypse Edition' of the game?

Nobody bought it for an obvious reason.

Gamingsince1981463d ago

Wtf did this edition come with ? A real helicopter and a real zombie virus ?

Vithar463d ago

For one lucky person willing to spend $386,000, the My Apocalypse Edition of Dying Light promised a staggering collection. It included the buyer’s face in the game, a human-sized ‘Volatile’ statue, and parkour lessons with a freerunning team. It also came with night vision goggles, an all-expenses paid round trip to Techland’s offices, and four signed copies of the game. Oh, and it also came with a custom-built, ‘zombie-proof’ survival shelter.

LOL but it was a stunt from the team:
‘It was a PR stunt and got a lot of media attention for its wild and over-the-top nature, it was designed to generate buzz around the game’s release. It did a great job of getting the game noticed, though! But nobody purchased it – thankfully, I guess!’
