The Eccentric Gamer writes: "At the very core of gaming and indeed, the whole internet, a feud has been brewing for many, many years. The last couple of years it has escalated to the point that you cannot go to a gaming forum without seeing a hardcore versus casual debate sprouting up.
We look at the casual gamers, the hardcore gamers and the bad players that hide behind the casual label and what they all bring to the table, good or bad and why we believe without these groups, gaming would actually be much worse off."

It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.

Mojang has partnered with Merlin Entertainments to build the world's first Minecraft theme park in the UK.

A three-episode live-action adaptation of the first two Yakuza video games will debut Tuesday, March 17 exclusively IGN. Each episode is about an hour long and will stream on IGN.com and IGN’s YouTube channel.
Filthy casuals! :)
What if you're casually hardcore, or a hardcore casual?
I don't mind casual gamers. Why should I? I just don't want them to change the focus of the industry to appease them, or cite Candy Crush statistics for how 99% of gamers are women, or see anymore articles like this.
Just keep away from us and we'll keep away from you.
However, I find the terms to be blurry. Everyone has a different interpretation. I was told that I am not a hardcore gamer because I hate Dark Spuls, GTA, and Halo, but love Visual Novels, RPGs, and Fighting games. I was told I'm not a real gamer because I don't have mad skillz at everything I play, 100% my games, or play on the hardest modes. Stupid, because I love video games, they're my damn life.
So if Candy Crush and Clash of Clans is somebody's idea of gaming, sure, you're a gamer, but a casual one. I just think there's a thinner line than many people say. It's all relative. Maybe I am casual compared to some but others are further yet casuals to me.
So who's a casual to the Candy Crush players? Maybe people whobrarely game, and even then only Minesweeper or Solitare?
The only distinctions I'll grant "hardcore" gamers as opposed to literally anyone else is the fact that they play more games than anyone else, play them better, or simply complain about them more.
Any other gamer won't be much different at all beyond their devotion to the medium in these said categories. Most of us enjoy having fun playing. We enjoy it to varying degrees of intensity, though.
On one side you have the so called hardcore gamers, who think they're good at the games they play but actually suck and blame others for their lack of skills.
On the other you have the filthy casuals that promote trash like Candy Crush and Flappy Bird.
In other words, they both suck.
