Hardcore Droid: "To their credit, the world really is huge. Much more than I would have expected when I started the adventure. You can run all over the melancholic beauty that is the extraterrestrial human colony of Aurora 9 (and it really is beautiful; as a visual experience, Exiles is a delight), searching for hidden missions (i.e. more things to kill) in a wonderful buffet of lost temples, native villages, abandoned outposts, spaceships, caves, deserts. It’s no Skyrim, but it’s probably about as close as one gets on a mobile game."

TouchArcade: I hate when a game lets me down. Exiles [$4.99] had a cool premise, and was from a developer that has done big, expansive open-world games on iOS before. Yet, this just falls way short of what it promised to be. This is the latest open-world RPG from Crescent Moon, having you deal with a government conspiracy involving a deadly virus, and the eventual fight against a politician riding in a giant mech. The game is mission-driven, but there's a giant, expansive world that you can explore, though there's not a whole lot to actually find beyond what the missions have. At least you can ride in mechs and on sweet air bikes, and shoot the ironically-named Peacebots.
TouchArcade: Crescent Moon Games' next major internally-developed game is coming next week. Exiles releases on January 29th. This is another open-world RPG from Crescent Moon, this time taking place in the future. You control an Elite Enforcer of either male or female gender and of one of three classes, fighting aliens and a corrupt government to help save this futuristic space colony. But really, that's all just an excuse to ride around hoverbikes on a massive planet, though there's plenty of interiors to explore on foot with a number of weapons to blast your enemies with.
