To me, this happened right at the beginning of a golden decade, 95-'05. Amazing.

I finally got a copy for DS today
It is very smooth, only problem is my hands cramp up a bit with the DS.

scark924157d ago

Damn! Its very expensive everywhere, I have been looking for a cheap version for ages!

Nabbed up a pal copy on eBay for £24 :D
I also got s sealed Zelda phantom hourglass for £10 so quite a good week.

I played the DS version and I didn't see the reason of the massive love the fans seem to give it.

It is a good game but not the amazing game people make it out to be.

You have to put the game in context though. In the early 90's there wasn't much for multiple endings or party members or time travel. And the epoch blew my mind! This game broke the boundaries for story telling at the time. I mean, chrono didn't even have to live to beat the game. It was revolutionary at the time.

These young'uns don't understand about great games of the past. It is all about graphics, fps, etc...anymore.

knifefight4156d ago

The time travel -- what you can do with it -- hasn't been topped. All the little things that the game doesn't explicitly tell you, that you can totally do by messing with the time loops, are amazing.

Revengeance4157d ago

It's probably because you didn't play around the time this was considered innovative. More JRPGs are like this now, but this was considered the pinnacle of JRPGs in the 90s.

A remake or even a modern port would do since it is one of the best games all time. Can’t believe it’s been 30 years since I first played it

Azurite211d ago

It's on Steam, don't think they'll have another port unless it's a remake.

Yasunori Mitsuda is a talented composer I love the music both from Chrono Trigger, Xenogears. I will always enjoy Nobuo Uematsu as well. I would love to have seen the Chrono Trigger concert live.
