MGS has always had quality bosses. I'm also glad it doesn't take itself too seriously... Even though its very cinematic, its still a fun game at heart. Can't wait until Phantom Pain comes out! I'll never be off it!

There is one boss that really made me understand what MGS is about: The End in MGS3.
MGS3 was my first MG game and is my favorite episode of them all. The End required sneaking, gadgets use and precision.

TheStrokes4160d ago

You will see me in clans: The S3, GRU and others. Hope I can register my old players name again though.

nO Psycho Mantis ?? or the END??? the list is ridiculous ..also Octapus Beast&Beauty boss and final jeep race with Liquid are among the best

WizzroSupreme4160d ago

Turning my PS clock ahead and killing The End by cheating the waiting game was the truest gaming sin I ever committed – and I have no regrets.

Out of all the times I have played MGS 3 I think I actually did The End fight twice. Since I found out I could shoot him in his wheel chair after that cutscene. I haven't fought him legit haha.

Metal Gear REX vs. RAY and Big Boss vs. Metal Gear ZEKE. Those two battles were so damn EPIC!

That whole scenewas epic and came as a surprise. PPlayingthe second time was not as fun

hkgamer4160d ago

I personally don't like his list.

But everyone has their own list.

Psycho mantis would be at the top for originality.

Rex battle felt the most fun.

The boss is best hand to hand fight.

Maybe that sorrow guy. Never understood til this day what to do. Never really understood why i died.

paul-p19884159d ago (Edited 4159d ago )

The ghosts that are floating above the river in the Sorrow 'battle' sap a small part of your health, as does the Sorrow when he fires that weird beam at you (if I remember rightly he might also fly into you, also causing damage). The only way to beat it is to keep walking forward until the end of the stream.
Fun Fact: If you are doing a no kill walkthrough there will be no ghosts apart from the sorrow so it's really easy to beat that one :)

hkgamer4159d ago

think my first playthrough i got through that boss without dying.

second playthrough, did the same thing and died a few times. just carried on walking straight and repeating it until i cleared it.

the no kill run was quite funny.

Rex Vs ray battle was awesome as well. Should have included the end.

Five Games I'd Love To See On the Neo Geo AES+

Blues Journey is the game I'd like to see.

Popsicle34d ago

Pre-ordered mine a few days ago. Love this concept and hope there are more games announced. I can’t justify paying the prices for games that collectors are asking for. It’s the primary reason I own almost every console except the Neo Geo.

I've pre ordered one here in the UK, no games though, as I'll move it on for a higher price. The white model looks awesome, but as expected, the price is too high. We'll probably see more of those all in one cartridges from China containing every AES game. In the UK, AES+ game at £70 ($95) is better than eye watering prices for the originals, but these games are so old and I can honestly say SNK didn't release many classics. The Metal Slug series is the only series I rate, there were just too many Street Fighter clones and not enough scrolling fighting games. Overall, the Neo Geo was poor for all genres apart from one on one fighters. Videos on YouTube asking for games from that console generation to be ported to the AES+, but who'd want to pay £70 for Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter 2? There's a lot of SNK collections out there, the best being Metal Slug Anthology on the PlayStation 2. The Street Fighter Anniversary Collection on the Switch contains 12 games for around £30, instead of £840 if released on the AES+. For collectors, the AES+ is the best news since sliced bread. Are there enough SNK fans out there? Nowhere near. Those £70 cartridges will soon start creeping up in price and it'll be a re-run of the original console.

I always wanted one in the 90's but couldn't afford it. Now i can but i think if i get one it will be collecting dust fast. It's a nostalgia thing i guess.

Hideo Kojima put Low Roar in Death Stranding because gamers need more culture in their lives

It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.
