"I hate the idea that my character can walk across the entire map in a few minutes."

I didn't know Fallout had this issue. Those worlds are massive.

DarkOcelet4149d ago

It is true for instance , you can get to Rivet City from the Vault where you start in 4 minutes. While the content was inside these cities and in the outdoor sections. The wasteland itself isnt exactly what you call big. Its just filled with huge content. Here is hoping Fallout 4 can be as big as Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim combined. That would be just super awesome.

TheXgamerLive4149d ago

My main concern is that it's current Gen XBOX ONE PS4 and PC only.
Last gen would be the same as well last gen "limited". The same mistake as Destiny, loading..........loading...... .please wait......

<Applauds>

A list which doesn't list co-op

Well done...least someone thought of the consequences that feature would bring

DarkOcelet4149d ago

I really like a person who hates co op as much as me lol. It ruins everything.

-Foxtrot4149d ago

It only ruins everything when the game wasn't built up for it or they spend too much time trying to focus on all gameplay experiences like Destiny.

Borderlands, L4D, Payday, Dead Island, Torchlight, Magicka, Castle Crashers, the upcoming Evolve etc...all built up for co-op

While shoving it into games like Dead Space, Resident Evil and yes Mass Effect 3 (could of spent their time making a better ending and finishing off the Omega content which became DLC) end up ruining the game

FullmetalRoyale4149d ago (Edited 4149d ago )

*rolls eyes*

Here you are yet again bitching about coop.

How exactly would optional drop in/drop out coop make the game ruined for you?

Would I play it coop? Absolutely not. But there isn't anything wrong with people having the option.

Nothing to say, guys?

DarkOcelet4149d ago (Edited 4149d ago )

Because the games feels like it is designed for more than 1 person like Dead Space 3 or MGS Peace Walker. There are more examples but those are the ones i can think off recently. Look i dont mind co op as long as it doesnt interfere if the player want to play and finish the game solo.

-Foxtrot4149d ago (Edited 4149d ago )

Here is someone like you who doesn't realise the time and resources that goes into co-op...especially adding it into a game like this

The franchise was never a co-op game, it was never built up for it meaning they have zero knowledge of building a co-op game from the ground up.

Doing co-op would require a lot of resources as they have to make sure quests, item management, enemies, respawn rates, item drops/rewards, mission structures are equal for both single player and people who are playing with two people.

During this time they could of better off spending it on getting rid of the single player bugs they have OR adding features you'd probably end up getting in DLC.

Not to mention it's Bethesda, they can't even do a single player game without bugs, imagine the bugs co-op would bring. So ontop of their infamous single player bugs you would have co-op ones. They might end up fixing co-op ones first as it would be the main feature for the new game while single player ones are put on the back burner....same goes to exploits.

It's really not that easy and I don't see why for once we can't have a game which is purely enjoyed for it's single player experience. Look what happened when the online went off over Xmas...this is why single player games need to survive and at the minute Bethesda does a good job keeping them alive

"But there isn't anything wrong with people having the option."

You do have an option....go play another co-op game which was actually built around the feature, not wanting it in a game you'll enjoy for a month to show off to your friends, get bored at the half arsed single player then end up going on the next brand new online game

FullmetalRoyale4149d ago

Let me guess Trot..

Blah blah, fallout isn't about coop.

Blah blah, they aren't good enough developers to do coop.
Long, boring, pointless rant completely not acknowledging I said OPTIONAL coop.
That about right? I've seen you repeat yourself time, and time again. I'm not reading a word of that.

To the other guy: Dead Space 3 is a completely absurd comparison, as they DID build that game around dudebro shooter coop. What drop in/drop out coop ACTUALLY is is Fallout 3, but hey now my buddy is here.

-Foxtrot4149d ago

"Blah blah"

Now your just being immature...

MrSwankSinatra4149d ago (Edited 4149d ago )

Let me guess another know-it-all, who really knows nothing. As history has shown us, you don't shoehorn in features that series inception never included in the first place because it never works. The reason why borderlands works as a co-op game is because it was created with co-op in my mind from the very beginning.

You want a example of how co-op ruined a series, take a BIG LOOK AT "Resident Evil"

gantarat4149d ago

@MrSwankSinatra

But But Resident Evil Outbreak

uncharted564149d ago

I am looking for a next gen Fallout sp experience. Better graphics, story, karma choices that are not so black and white. Improved animations esp for 3rd person, optimization on all platforms and less bugs. I am not opposed to a coop mode as long as it is separate from the sp in respect that it will have different missions and story for just that feature. And I am pretty sure Bethesda has more then enough money to spend resources to build coop a separate experience from that of single player. It just depends on what the devs vision of the next game is.

-Foxtrot4149d ago (Edited 4149d ago )

Yeah but at the end of the day your still going to think "They could of added more missions" even if the co-op was separate

If you had the choice between a lousy co-op mode and three long single player side missions with new guns, items, armour etc I think people would want the latter as that idea would just end up going into the DLC idea pile and we'd end up paying for it.

uncharted564149d ago

Well tbh both Fallout games were long. I am playing dragon age and 70 hrs it still has my interest cuz of the story and the variety of missions. If they can keep the next game the same length then rather then add more missions I would rather have them build a separate coop exp in the regard that instead of the followers you have a real life coop partner. Would add a whole new depth and experience to the game. Lets be honest would you not enjoy taking down a nest of deathclaws with a friend blasting them to Oblivion. Pun intended :P

elninels4149d ago

Not trying to be a jerk but, variety of missions? No, inquisition does not have a variety of missions. Go here, collect this many, kill that many.

Great game, 50some hours not it. But variety of missions it has not.

uncharted564149d ago

See the problem is that you conclude that the coop will be lousy, the same could be said if three new long story missions were added. If you will critically argue something then you will have to make sure to look at the both sides of the coin.

ive only played fallout3 so cant talk about the rest too much. bethasda released a game on the ps3 that just didnt really work after 50% playthrough. the games framerate dropped big time.

new vegas? supposedly better with employees that worked on the original fallout. but it is obsidian and they always release a buggy follow up to sequels.

anyway. i just want a game where i can play from start to end with a consistent framerate. its not right if i cant aime anymore due to fps problems, probably due to the ps3 ram problem but if the start of the game is ok and then the more missions i go on the more the fps startsto crawl then its broken.

not realy a feature but lets get the basics working before we think of other things. PC gamers are so lucky they dont have to put up with unplayable fps.

DarkOcelet4149d ago

It was because of that damn engine they were using. I really hope they got rid of it.

Roccetarius4149d ago (Edited 4149d ago )

Chances are they're just going to use another modified Gamebryo engine, then call it new to fool people. The thing is, each time people found out it was the same engine.

First of all, they should respect their customers and release the game in a finished state.

jocomat94149d ago (Edited 4149d ago )

Fallout doesn't need co op but if done right it has the potential to make the game more amazing then it already is. Not hard to implement into its story either. Instead of AI follower its just replaced with a player you found and joined up with in your travels.

They need to look at Morrowind and see what the progression should have been from there instead of the regression we got with the next 2 games. They weren’t horrible games but they could have been so much more.

-Foxtrot186d ago

Fallout 4 just felt too streamlined and accessible to me, the perk system was not as fun as it was in Fallout 3, not saying Fallout 3 didn't have issues but 4 just felt like a complete step back.

mastershredder186d ago

So the part where you just sold the same games for the last 10 years while you focused on 76 and merch, was not a reset from the "creative" aspect eh? How very Todd of you.

lukasmain186d ago

I bought Fallout 4 (I loved Fallout 3) at launch and I couldn't bring myself to finish it or even get close to finishing it. It was soooo damned boring and bland. I played on a very hard difficulty and I had hundreds of stimpaks. One of the only games I've played for a while and not ended up finishing it. I hated it. Just flat out hated it.
