The Kinect has been out for over a year now, Xbox Ones are now being sold without the it and it seems like everyone is forgetting about it. What’s the sense of buying it? What is it even used for? What’s in it for the consumer? I for one, was sceptical when I first bought it standalone because my Xbox didn't come with it. Now, I don't think I could go on gaming without it.

MWEB GameZone writes: "If your choice of gaming platform is an Xbox One or Windows 10, you are in for a treat this year. Microsoft wants to foster a happy community of players with one goal; to make the Xbox and Windows 10 platforms a fun place to play.
Here is how Microsoft will attempt to achieve their goal in 2015"
I have one request: bundle more items in a base console. Play and charge kits need to be there by default.
I like to think so. Good approach from MS, I would just also work on that silly parity clause as well.
If Microsoft/Windows can pull of any sort of cross-platform integration, seamlessly, I'll be well impressed.
Once Don Mattrick left Phil Spencer has done a very good job in re-engaging with gamers and promoting the XBOX One as a gaming device and not a media centre that just happened to play games too. His approach has been refreshing to the point its made me re-think about buying an XBOX One after originally deciding to just go with my gaming PC and a PS4 this generation. I have a feeling Microsoft will have a very positive E3 this year.

Gamerz Unite offers a few wild eyed theories and general speculation on what exactly the Halo 5 Guardians #HuntTheTruth campaign is getting at. Could it be something more grounded as ONI/UNSC power and greed? Or might it be something deeper involving cloning and the Forerunner?

An insider gives its look to all the exclusive titles coming to Xbox One (and Windows 10), including some new rumors about new projects and IPs.
Why did my comment get marked as spam? All I did was list some of the games mentioned.
I want a true age of empires, also Crimson sky was awesome bring that back.
Maybe not. I have one and I love it, but not everyone will want to pay for one. But walking into my dorm room putting my bags down, changing clothes, turning on my x1 and turning on Nikita or TWD or something on Netflix all while getting undressed and what not, all without touching the controller, It's just nice. Voice command navigation and some game utilization is really awesome, but it doesn't have a big enough focus in most games, more little things. Though, saying "need a medic" "need ammo",etc in Bf4 and having the command sent to my teammates is pretty sweet and my attention is still on the fight. And D4s utilization of the Kinect was fantastic and very well done.
Had a few spasses near the edge of the screen sometimes in D4, but overall it was fluid as heck, faster than moving the analog stick (not triggers or bumper though), and I could just do w/e while playing. Didn't have to be stiff or anything and even had roommates doing stuff behind me. Voice commands in the pause menu are terrible though lol (or maybe were, game has had updates), but it doesn't matter much as they work well in actual game. Quick time events were fun af with the motion controls too. Overall game was really enjoyable with the motion controls. Haven't played dance games so I can't speak for em nor do I use tv guide as i'm in a dorm and primarily use Netflix.
I love the Kinect, but it's an underutilized part of gaming right now at least. BUT Games like Project Spark with it's Kinect capture character animator and D4s smooth integration (seriously doe hats off to Access Games) show promising potential of utilization that works well. And I hear it's good for the Dance games. Entertainment side it has some neat features too and I use some of em every day, but can't speak that much about it. And you can use Kinect to order pizza too hehe.
It's worth, I think depends on the individual, and it's use in gaming isn't that big (weeeell it's only been a year) but what it has been used for in gaming are pretty good so far in some games. There's just no widely know killer app for Kinect. I think it'd be D4, but ya know it's not widely known.
So ya know, for me it's worth it, but I get it if it's not to someone else.
Whoa. Look at at dat text.
I'm guess the majority of Xbox One owners bought the console without the camera, and whether they buy it later or not, it really has fragmented the user base in regards to what game developers might've used it for. Initially it was the centrepiece of the console, now it is a mere optional accessory.
I like it just for vocally turning on and off my xbox and all components. I never plan on playing kinect games with.
It was for me.
Happy for all those who enjoy Kinect and feel its worth the price, but this article is pretty weak in justifying the value of the device. Saved him money? Really? Glad MS quickly saw the light and allowed me to really save $100 on buying the console without the device. Don't want it, don't need it, don't miss it.
