Ouch, this is really bad news for MS if XOne gets modded or jailbroken this early, it would really harm the console so much. Or this could do nothing, guess we will find out.

I don't know. The SDK is updated like every 3 months. What they have might be old information. It may become irrelevant by the time the E3 gets here. Looks like the FBI has someone else to investigate. Hehehe!!

Yeah, but the modding community would sweep the consoles up.

This doesn't help Microsoft very much, but if they're in it for market share, they'll have something to brag about, I guess...

actually once MS break even and start to turn a profit on xb1 they will prob love it being hacked to a point because they do what they did with 360.
ban waves and just ban console so people just go out and mod them again.
Its if its jtagged that there creates major headache for them imo.

Yep, software sales is where the companies make the profit. Hardware tends to take a bit to make any real profit (articles have stated it costs like $381 to make a PS4 and $471 for xbone with kinect based on parts).

MS has already taken hits (price drop by 50 and add in a couple of free games) to push the system, this would hurt them a bit.

Didn't MS issue console bans for those on jailbroken 360s?

And doesn't jailbreaking the console mean no store access, no online multiplayer, no DLC etc?

and what about access to already purchased digital games?

Not worth the hassle in my view.

Some Neogaf members have found out the x box 1 will have access to seven cores in 2015 for games. Interesting i wonder how this SDK got leaked? The timing is weird Microsoft wants a closer relationship between PC gaming and the x box 1.

SDK'S don't get leaked unless someone who got it leaked it.

SDK is not going to make the x box 1 hackable its contains software tools for devs to make games. It would take a bit of work to hack the x box 1 as its an online console.

Did I miss MS reversing their policy again on their online check in? It's not an online console anymore.

SDKs give devs the tools to make games but also the tools to get deeper access to the console. They talk about reverse engineering functions of the SDK. With that people could be able to install homebrew games or pirated games.

Both the PS4 and XB1 are online consoles. Every game that gets released seems to need a online update after you install it. If I don't play a game for a month and then go to play it, there is an update for it. This happene with almost ALL my games on both XB1 and PS4. It's insane. If you don't have online access you will miss out on tons of updates, fixes and improvements for your games. Gamers who don't have online access would never be able to play Destiny, Titanfall, Driveclub and dozens of other titles.

Dude theyre online consoles. I understand you can play then offline, but if said game is not updated you CANNOT PLAY while connected. So you will suffer whatever bugs and you wont get dlc.

The 7th core is available today for titles not using Kinect. Assassins Creed V was one of the first to make use of this.

If they crack it , its all over.
The software attach rate will plummet like a stone, and well be subjected to another round of old emulators, not buying second had xboxes in case there banned from live. In this day and age piracy should be a thing of the past, on consoles at least.

PS2 had a similar fate and somehow that didn't hurt it's fate or Sony's. Maybe the X1 getting mods may actually be a golden ticket for MS this gen.

I liked the division 2 but not a fan of the highest difficulty in the end game. Highest difficulty is all tactics and most weapons are useless, you just need a rapid firing gun with regenerating armour.
