On the other hand, last good manual that I have read was for the Puppeteer (I actually read it through, funny little thing) and last game that had some nice weight in the case was GTA V with that printed map.
I guess (most) publishers just need to reserve that place for annoying ad flyers for all sorts of season passes and game promos.....
