Hopefully a sequel to Gravity Rush... I'd buy it on either PSV or PS4 but I'd like to see the series on home consoles.

DarkAstronaut4164d ago (Edited 4164d ago )

Gravity Rush 2 is a PS4 game and it looks like Bluepoint Games are porting Gravity Rush 1 to PS4.

People thought for awhile it was Tearaway, but it obviously wasn't. MediaMolecule is doing it themselves.

Inception4164d ago

I don't see any hint in that link that tell GR 2 as a PS4 game and Bluepoint Games port GR 1 to PS4.

Abriael4164d ago

Because there isn't any.

DigitalRaptor4164d ago

Those are just potential indicators.

Nothing solid there, but I would like to see both.

breakpad4163d ago (Edited 4163d ago )

i really hope not for GR 2 or 1 on pS4 ..these guys (Sony) are just killing the machine...if there is no need to buy a Vita then there s no need to bring good games at it , it is just a vicious circle and one good justification to developers who are accused for no AAA game development for Vita

PoSTedUP4163d ago

sony will prob release it first on vita to see how it does in terms of sales or hardware boost. if it boosts a certain ammount of hardware they'll prob leave it a vita exclusive, if not they deff port it over to ps4. or port it over to ps4 regardless later. GR2 and UC:GA2 around the same time would attract a lot of people to the vita, especially with a temp price cut.

DarkAstronaut4163d ago

@breakpad

Don't expect many big name 1st party titles on the Vita anymore.

If its a PS4 game i'll be really pissed, that would be a stab to PSV owners and that would also mean that Sony is finally giving up on the Vita.

HentaiMasterRace4164d ago

I would never buy a first party game from Sony EVER again, UNLESS! Sony does a full comeback with the Vita like how they did with PS3 in 2009.

colonel1794164d ago (Edited 4164d ago )

dude Sony already gave up on the Vita and have openly said it. They want to focus on the PS4 since it's selling like hotcakes. They won't let go of a chance to have another PS2, to focus on the Vita which is not seeing well at all (Sony's own fault though).

They will leave the Vita to be the PS4 remote play device and indie machine, Nothing more. I have a Vita but I already accepted its destiny,

George Sears4164d ago

Platinum'd Gravity Rush, can't wait for the sequel.

DarXyde4164d ago (Edited 4164d ago )

Same!

It was too great of a game to be left to die. The more people who play, the better. I get why people may not have wanted to invest in a Vita to play, but with PS4 being so awesome, no excuses for it NOT to hit PS4!

Vegamyster4164d ago

Genuinely surprised by the game, i didn't think I'd like it as much as i did but its a shame the story didn't explain anything about Kat, here powers or anything about the world, hope the sequel fills those voids in.

Ragthorn4163d ago

I absolutely enjoyed Gravity Rush because I also platinum'd it! It took me two days (not actual game time, but in the summer) to beat the game and platinum it. I am hoping for a sequel because I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

GokuSolosAll4164d ago

Better be Vita, too, if not exclusive.

robtion4164d ago

Gravity Rush is probably the best game that most people haven't played (due to the limited install base on vita). I would love to see a sequel on ps4/vita.

DarkAstronaut4164d ago

Agreed, but don't expect to see it on the Vita.

HentaiMasterRace4164d ago

If Gravity Rush 2 does end up being Vita exclusive, how would everyone react?

dark-kyon4164d ago

they must react of the same form if gran turismo 7 was ps4 exclusive, but not the "fans" of playstation want what sony kills the psvita and put every game in the delaystation 4.

DarXyde4164d ago (Edited 4164d ago )

In that case, I think it'd stay the same really. Sadly, the game isn't as well known as it should be. Pretty much just the Vita community cares about it (for now). For me, how would I react? I'd be disappointed, but I do have a Vita and will still buy it. I think it'll be like Tearaway: a great game where it'll find its way to PS4 to attract more gamers to hopefully help promote the new IP and inspire future games.

Inception4164d ago

People should be glad because sony still created 1st party AAA games for vita.

But seriously, some sony fanboys are f*kin hypocrite. They're asking sony to put a lot of support for vita. But they also want sony to remove one of the best vita exclusive and port it for PS4 :(

Spotie4163d ago

I don't get it either, friend.

Personally, I hope it stays on Vita.

Sony's Licensing Strategy May Be the Best Route to Reviving Some of PlayStation's Lost Classics

Sammy: "It’s sad that PlayStation has moved on from some of these iconic brands, but it would be worse watching them rot. At least with this licensing strategy, there’s a legitimate opportunity for more great franchises to get a second chance. And if they sell really well, there’s always the chance Sony may decide to bring them back."

Love this idea. Let other companies release reboots of these classics to a wider audience. Everyone wins.

Eonjay417d ago

It's what most IP holders do.

jznrpg418d ago

Remaster Puppeteer. It looked great on PS3 but it would be nice to have on PS5 with fast loading and some sort of 4k

Man I'd love to see GR3. Unfortunately Somy didn't do well to advertise these games and AAA gaming is what most gamers preferred.

This gen has been different, indies and smaller games are what people absolutely love now so I wonder how these games would do if they were to release now. These games would also need a PC release.

Cacabunga454d ago (Edited 454d ago )

GR2 was nice but i don’t think it’s made for a home console. It played like a dream on vita. Same for tearaway. Ps4 version was boring but vita was glorious.
Japan studio made amazing titles for everyone. Call them AA if you like but they can work on jrpg reboots and sequel of bloodborne. Maybe even let them remake old gems even from other developers. I don’t think a partnership with SNK to develop Koudelka remake will be unnoticed. But bad management is where it’s at. AA disappeared but let’s invest everything in gaas

Knushwood Butt454d ago

GR2 was never on Vita, oddly, but yes, the fist game was best on Vita and the gyro controls really suited the game and worked well too. Vita had a ton of tech built into it.

I platted GR1 on Vita and PS4.
I couldn't play GR2 more than a couple of hours. Bought it day 1. Still have it. Tried twice but just couldn't get into it.

isarai456d ago

I mean can you really say it closed when 90% of the staff is at Asobi Games which was originally a team in Japan Studio?

blackblades455d ago

Don't try to spin it the studio is no mo end of story

pwnmaster3000455d ago

I mean he has a point.
I get it the studio is gone but what makes the studio, the people who works there.

For example people say BioWare is not BioWare no more because the people who made BioWare left.
Team Asobi may not be named studio Japan no more but if 90% of the workers is from studio Japan then it’s damn near the same and they still in Japan.

isarai455d ago (Edited 455d ago )

Not trying to spin it, that's literally the facts, Asobi absorbed Japan studio, and a small portion left but most of the Japan studio staff are still there 🤨. They're certainly taking a different direction that Japan studio but it's still the same people in the same office working for the same publisher 🤷‍♂️

Hell even the DNA is the same. Astrobot shares a lot in common with how it feels and controls with games like puppeteer and knack

blackblades454d ago

Saying that is like saying they gonna be making gravity rush 3 which is a no. The studio itself is gone the workers that went to asobi isnt gonna be making the same games

isarai454d ago

Wtf are you going on about, no one said any of that, why you makin sh!t up just to argue? 🤣

Scissorman454d ago

that's a bit of poor argument. i mean look at naughty dog. they don't make crash, jak & daxter , or uncharted games anymore either.

jznrpg455d ago

Bring Puppeteer to PS5 please! Love that game. Gravity Rush collection would be ice as well.

isarai455d ago

I've been shouting that games underrated nature for so long. I honestly think it has more unique charm and heart than astrobot, and if people rediscovered it they would really see Japan studio has always been a special studio

jznrpg453d ago

All the different heads and abilities were awesome. The aesthetic was awesome. The level design was so much fun. It is the true meaning of underrated, sadly.

Melankolis455d ago

Understandable. Adult gamers, while still having interest in AA gaming, have so little time that they choose to play AAA instead. Indie too, being fun and cheap, who could resist? they are too, time-consuming.

Eonjay454d ago

I think your on to something but for me it feels different. For one, even AAA games can get too time consuming. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is gigantic. Some would say obsessively so. It's quite an achievement simply due to the amount t of content. I definitely have less time for games now and the problem is that there is so much to play. I don't even get to half of the AAA games I want to play.

ngl, i dont find the game much appealing

Einhander1972565d ago

I am really interested in this game, I have had my eye on it since they first showed it.

For what it's worth Bokeh is the group of people that split off from Japan Studio when it was reorganized into Asobi.

jznrpg564d ago (Edited 564d ago )

Me too. I am going to get it but I’m debating if I should get it day 1 or wait a little bit. I want to support the new studio and IP but I have so many games to play already. I will probably buy it at launch anyways
