Titanfall Developer Respawn Working On 3rd Person Adventure/Exploration Game

"Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall was a moderate success, it sold a heap of copies and made the firm a nice little bucket of cash. Fair play.

Normally this would indicate that a sequel would be right around the corner, but it seems the guys and gals at Respawn are wary of annualising their new property and instead are working on a third-person adventure game." The Games Cabin

Could be the soul of the third person COD that never was.

chrish19904184d ago

I do believe that was being done by sledgehammer, though i could very well be wrong.

Remember Unreal Tournament Liandri Conflict on the original Xbox? Such a great game that needed tps and fps. A TPS arena shooter could definitely work and Respawn are definitely fit to pull it off!

Excited!

@FriedGoat.Titanfall was far from boring.Yes it may have lacked in customization, player count and story but still a very enjoyable shooter.Huge amount of great maps,Smooth free running, superb titan battles and then when you think it's all over Respawn add a nice little 4 player co-op mode that brings fun back into a already great game.Far from perfect, but a pretty solid effort.

Like most of the haters on here, they have never played the game. It's just the 'in' thing to do.

SonyAddict4183d ago

I played it for a few hours and gave up!, shooting bots just didn't do it for me..

Eonjay4184d ago

Does anyone think we will see this before another iteration of Titanfall?

Drasill4184d ago

Probably not. In a Gameinformer interview Vince said that this second team is small and they are in the preproduction stage. Whereas the Titanfall team is a fully staffed team.

Thanks for the response.

EA Cuts Around 300 Roles, Including Roughly 100 at Respawn

In addition to the roughly 100 job cuts IGN reported earlier today at Respawn Entertainment, EA has made wider cuts across its organization today, impacting around 300 individuals total including those already reported at Respawn.

Absolutely insane. Man I'm hope they land on their feet EA needs to get the shit together badly....

This is why this industry has slow releases and none compelling games.

Why would anyone willingly work in the VG industry or specifically for one of these globocorp organizations that put you in constant fear of losing your livelihood based on terrible choices made by idiotic management, not the people with talent making the actual games?

cloganart421d ago (Edited 421d ago )

There are tons of Star Wars games out there that are not Turn-Based Strategy. You can play those.

gigoran8422d ago

turn based? hell yeah! not too many of those these days. I hear Expedition 33 is the same, so looking forward to that too.
