I can assure you I never said 2007 or 2008. That's other people do not include me. Just with common sense the PS3 will have a larger install base by late 2009. It's envitable especially when european and japanese centric games release like Killzone 2 and Final Fantasy XIII.

The way it's going, worldwide, using the steady trend that the PS3 has established in the last 6 months, the ps3 *might just* catchup by 2012.

That logic your using only works when a console has hit its prime like the 360. The 360 is older and basically the great exclusive franchises have already hit the 360 and they all will hit by the end of this year included.

Your theory doesn't apply to the PS3. The PS3 is a wildcard and it shows your ignorance ignore that the PS3 is just getting started. How can you say it's a steady trend when the PS3 was getting outsold 2 to 1 this time last year in the U.S. to actually consistently outselling 360 this year. The PS3 at a tech standpoint is progressively getting better ever since launch since Resistance to MGS4 every game has in general looked better than game before. With 360 the best looking game is still Gears of War. This tells me that 360 has already reached its prime and anything coming out for the 360 this year will not convince the mass market casual audience to buy a 360.

In fact if anything going by your logic actually works against you because by this time next year the PS3 will be selling twice as many systems as the 360.

The "wildcard" is just another term for things that are coming for the PS3. Where as most of the great things have already happened for the 360. It was those trend changing things that happened like Blu-ray winning, price drops, 1st party exclusives that increased the sales. So are you really going to deny that Sony will have basically nothing coming out. Are you really going to deny that Gran Turismo 5 and FFXIII aren't going to sell systems? Historically both those franchises sell more than MGS.

The 360's actions in this year are more conservative. You have Too Human coming out next year but people already bought the 360 when mass effect came out since the two games are too similiar. Fable 2 fans already bought the 360 when Oblivion came out. Left 4 Dead just another mediocre looking FPS game. Gears 2 fans bought the 360 when Gears 1 came out.

The PS3 on the otherhand Socom the best selling online game from PS2 is coming out. Little Big Planet there is no game like this, so it's going to attract a different type of audience not yet found on the PS3 yet. White Knight Story, there is no RPGs on the PS3 yet so there is another audience coming to the PS3.

Once again that logic doesn't work especially when you talk about system that hasn't even reached its prime. And 12 months ago PS3 sales were less than half of what it was now. Why don't you wait 6 more months and see what happens. Your logic doesn't take into the account that the month of June PS3 sales will be higher than the July sales based on MGS4. Your just assuming sales will be the same through out the whole PS3 life. You can't just use "trends" in gaming because historically the #1 system could be third place the next generation proven by Nintendo. And Nintendo DS perfect example the DS was getting outsold by PSP early on but then exploded by "wildcard" game chaning decisions and actions like the Nintendogs and Brain Age game.

And I can play the same game as you and say the 360 sales are gradually decreasing. In 2007 you had Halo 3, Bioshock, and Mass Effect and yet the PS3 still outsold the 360 in 2007. This year the sales are even lower despite having those "great" games. And then going by that "trend" the 360 will never surpass 40 million units this generation.

To me it the PS3 with the spent load which was really only two big titles MGS4 and FF13. Every thing else is just potential alone in the dark games. Square just announced huge support for the 360 and I never though I would see such a thing. Little big planet has no point and put it in front of core platforming fans and MM9 will likely crush it. Just because companies are not bragging does not mean they have nothing in store. After all the hype that became fizzle this year I would be weary of hype of the future. What is also funny is most of the stuff you said about the xbox can be said for the PS3. The only people who care are the current owners. This is the case with all systems. If RROD is fixed or a xbox slim does come out then that could be a problem for the PS3 as currently people are switching to the PS3 because of a broken xbox 360. I mean white knight is going to draw a RPG crowded? If you are a fan of RPGs maybe you could make this judgment. Simply existing does not mean people care.
