BLAM the hate DmC deserves this. That was my only complaint that it wasn't 60FPS like the rest so I'm def getting it plus I never played 4 when it came out so that's a def buy. Thanks Capcom!

This game is still better than Bayonetta 2. Yet B2 gets 91 metascore while DMC gets a 86.

I don't agree with a remaster. Capcom you suck! Japanese developers make Ubisoft look amazing. Atleast they don't take hecka time to develop games and develop games for the correct platform.

I played dmc fallout NV and Farcry 4 on one system lol.

These definitive editions left and right is a new way to get more out of a product.

I wouldn't be surprised if publishers start planning definitive
editions of current gen games for ps5.

Can't beat BC!

I didn't play it so I will keep a look out for it as long as it doesn't have that horrible music, you would think that by now we could at least control what music we want to hear in game especially if they are going to use that horrible metal rock shit or what ever it is...

I seriously can't believe they're making this. What part of "flop" last gen didn't they understand?! I can see some games getting remastered, and personally I'm sick of seeing them, but who's bright idea was this? I won't be buying

Sadly it wasn't 60FPS on consoles, but it definitely was 120 FPS on PC.

It looked amazing too. The fluid movement and combat at 120FPS really showed what this game could do. Extremely happy with this game.

Once again, unnecessary ports. Why don't they just port DMC1-4 and put it in one disc, I would buy that instead the idea of buying this at $59.99

I wonder if ps5 will play ps4 games.
The new version of last gen games seem to be a trend.

Sony and Ms might want to sell The Order Remastered and
Quantum break definitive edition.

Also last gen games are a good opportunity for current gen folks to
get some more 60fps games.

Didn't they do almost exactly that with the Devil May Cry HD edition? Sure, 4's not in there but you get the entire PS2 trilogy.

I would only buy it if they fixed the crap combat engine. A hack and slash running on unreal 3 rather than Capcom's excellent MT Framework was a massive oversight. It will be more playable assuming they fix the 30 fps, maybe even throw in a lock-on button (you know, the standard for HnS games for over a decade), make it at least a little difficult to juggle. That wont fix the bad characters and awful writing, but at least the gameplay will be good. They nailed the art style, i can give Ninja Theory that.

But yeah, i hate it cuz no white hair /s

If you watch the trailer in the link, it states the game will run in 60 fps and also have Manual Lock-On added to the combat.

Good news.
I didnt see the trailer when i looked. DmC 4 in HD is guaranteed awesome though, cant wait. Hopefully has all the features of the PC version.

I was one of the people defending some of the remasters/ports but it is getting a little too much. To be still doing this stuff into the second year of the console generation is a bit disappointing. A new generation should be new games, I mean some of these games are barely a couple of years old. I'd much rather have the teams working on these remasters working on some sort of new game, instead developers unfortunately would rather go for a quick buck.

All these definitive editions and remakes just seem like a sneaky way for developers to re-release their games at full price. Although I never played this game last gen, I don't think I'd buy it at full price.

DMC4 is held in a special place of contempt, the recycled bosses at the end were just annoying and ruined it for me.

This does feel like a cash grab but considering the less than stellar sales they wanted it's understandable.

What's surprising is how the people who say how great DMC4 is act like recycled bosses and retreading whole levels isn't part of gameplay when they say how good the "gameplay" is.

Except DMC4 was still dissapointing for such reasons to most .

What get praised by most fans , from the gameplay is the combat system , wich is essentially an upgrade from DMC3's combat . Not the level design or some of the story .

They'll still say that the bosses were at least better than in DmC (on top of the better fighting system) and i'll agree .

DmC biggest fights were lackluster and anticlimatic , especially Mundus and Vergil

Ill agree with you DmC had its shortcomings. Some of the boss fights were poor especially the final one and some of the dialogue was cringe worthy. But I feel that while combat wasn't as refined as DMC4 overall it was a good game (perhaps not the game most wanted.)

But for me DMC4 left such a bad taste in my mouth back when it first came out. Everything from Nero and the unanswered questions about him, the lack of variety, to literally back tracking half way through the game. IMO the good combat just doesn't outweigh all its other flaws.

The short amount of time that you have with Dante is its only saving grace. I just personally find it odd that of all the games in the franchise that people hold DMC4 in such high regard. But to each his/her own I guess.

But it's not really ... gotta thank DmC for making it look so good with it being worse and being so easy . So now sure plenty are backtracking and openly loving DMC4 .

But back in the day DMC4 was quite reviled and criticized by many hardcore fans , and well deservingly so

To me an open world devil may cry game is really what they need to make but I doubt they'll make it as that requires actually putting in effort and resources. Instead they want to keep it stylish and short and charge full price.

Actually i've always wanted to experiment something new for the serie like open world or actual co-op .

Instead we had DMC3+ (or rather minus) with Devil May Cry 4 . Then DmC wich existence indeed irks me , because it brought nothing of value to the franchise , and makes everyone clamor for a return to form instead of maybe evolving for the better . It didnt really make use of NT's brand of storytelling , and was a weaker easier combat game .

I still believe that Capcom being Capcom , all it has achieved is someday Capcom releasing DMC5 "for the fans" , with no changes whatsoever , a return again to DMC3 mechanics with PS4/XB1 realisation .

Wich will be sad and a wasted opportunity and multiple sequels still following that same mold

Ugh so sick of these. I bought TLoU and GTA and that's the only remastered versions I will buy. DMC 1 was amazing, I would def pay to play that on PS4 but not $69.00 for it lol.

This gen so far has been far too reliant on Remasters. 'Oh, hey cool, I can rebuy all the games I already own.' Amazing.

GTA5 was worth it. Metro was worth it. TLOU was worth it. All of the others a superflous. I actually typed cash grabs at the end of that sentence, but then I wondered how well Sleeping Dogs did.

All these Definitive Editions, HD Remakes, we need new games damnit! I can understand games that are being made on this gen and last gen, and even games made on last gen just before this gen came out being remade, but really, anything older doesn't need to be remade unless it was an absolutely amazing game that deserves the upscale treatment, and worth a repurchase.
