"Devil May Cry 4" is a good game though it feels repetitive since you're essentially playing all the levels twice, once with the new character Nero and then again with Dante. Overall DMC4 is a good outing with nice visuals, a good story, good audio, and solid play mechanics. Dante's move-set in particular has been simplified, though. Rather than selecting a play style like in DMC3 with all controls revolving around its various move sets, DMC4 give you access to all of Dante's play styles on-the-fly, but reduces his move set to compensate for this ability.

DmC I own but haven't played yet. I've seen what they did to Dante, Vergil, and the story from watching my roommate play much of the game and it pales in comparison to the original, at least in terms of characterization. Will force myself to play it one day, though.

In my opinion the order of DMC games from my fave to least fave is: DMC3 > DMC1 > DMC4 > DMC2 (can't judge DmC as i haven't played it yet). I'd also say that 4 isn't that much better than 2; 4's story and visuals are better while I'd give the overall experience to 2 as the environments feel more varied and I enjoyed the puzzle elements and platforming more.

Couldn't they have done a collection of all 5 games? ;( think I'll just wait for ps+ version as I've already bought the HD collection the reboot the original dmc on ps2 DMC4 on xbox so don't fancy buying the newer ones again. Bang em all in together for £40 or less ps4.. sold!

Well, DMC4 is great game for sure. However, I'm disappointed that it gets a remastered or definitive treatment. :(

Wish they would make a definitive edition for part 1,2, or 3. Those are the true classics.

I am buying DMC 4 as I have never played it before. DMC: Devil May Cry is a pass. Got that on PS+ for PS3 and haven't started it yet.

I love the Devil May Cry series as much as the next guy, but have to laugh at people who cry foul about how DmC changed the character as if the story and characters in the original were deep and meaningful.

The game was always about the cool action and combo's, the story and characterisation were hardly Shakespeare like.

I recall the backlash at the last gen release of DmC and thought it was quite pathetic, with lots of moaning from the ever increasing self entitled keyboard warriors.

It was never given a fair crack and was actually a belting action game that, like the original games, allowed you to string together combos that left you feeling like an utter badass.

Having said all that, I am not convinced that this title warranted a re-release.

Devil May Cry 4 sounds okay, but unless they're packing Vergil in, I don't see the point. He was THE reason to get DMC 3 Special Edition.

Capcom sees 2015 as the year of milking previous gen games with remasters.

Man, this-gen's gonna be plagued with all of these remastered. Still, I understand the fund for this-gen games can be huge and they gotta pump out these to raise money for the bigger games.
Got the PC ver for both games so i won't be buying these.

I never got the chance to play the last DMC game. I do plan on getting it for my ps4. I watched a few DMC youtube vidz and thought it could borrow one ideas from the evil within. I love the demonic screeching sounds the demons make when they die. Hopefully, capcom add the screeching demons sounds(like evil within) in the DMC definitive edition.

Can we put aside which game did or didnt suck or which character we did or didnt like for a second and look at the real issue of being force fed more "remasters" "definitive editions" my god this is ridiculous, didnt crapcom release an "HD remaster" of the 1st 3 games last gen? so lets do it again? as a gamer and consumer this is insulting, I want NEW games NEW experiences not rehashes with a few more polys and a few more frames p/sec. The pricing isn't particularly good nor the value. These games are dirt cheap now for pretty much all systems and I don't think there was much demand to see what the games would look like with a little more room to breath on new consoles (as was the case with TLoU which was borderline breaking the PS3).

If they are going to put Devil May Cry on the new systems at least go full-hog and give us a Dante Collection with all 5 games in 1080/60. Now THAT I'd consider buying.

That said, I loved DMC4 - even Nero. His awesome arm made up for his astonishing emo-ness.

And this is why backwards compatibility is not available for current gen. We deserve it for getting excited over "hd" remakes of games that were supposed to be, and were labeled as, "HD".

I would really like a DMC game similar to DMC 3. I loved the difficulty and combat. Still the best in the franchise I think. I rank them... DMC3, DMC1, DMC, DMC 4 and DMC2...

DMC 2 was just bad. Good ideas with the power gems with different attributes, and the gold revive gem would revive you on the spot automatically. Very cool. The ideas were poorly executed though and combat was dull. Dante had zero personality and hardly spoke, and the boss fights were lack luster.

Hoping for a DMC 5 with a story like the last game and combat from DMC3.

I haven't played DmC or DMC5 yet. DMC4, I don't like Nero and Dante's styles felt nerfed compared to DMC3.

The only ones I enjoyed or completed was the first game and DmC.
