Wave 2 amiibos: Good luck finding Little Mac, Pit

Stevivor -- "Wave 2 of Nintendo’s amiibos have been released to the wild, and already, two of them appear to have sold out.

"A quick canvas of five shops across three Melbourne CBD chains — Target, EB Games and JB Hi-Fi — by Stevivor this morning has shown that Little Mac and Pit had come and gone."

Got 2 of each ordered as i want to use most of this batch as well but over here in uk seems like Luigi, Zelda, and Captain falcon are already unavailable through Amazon just too close to chrsitmas and with scalpers on top it's a shame for the proper fans, just get your pre orders in now and maybe even duplicates like myself incase they have any issues getting them to me due to stock.

Took me a week to track down a Link Amiibo. Super pain in the butt. Fortunately Amazon got a shipment in and I grabbed one. Everyone in my home town is sold out of EVERY Amiibo. Just 10 empty racks in all the stores. I think it is time for Nintendo to boost their production and milk this cash cow for what it is worth

I thought Amiibo was stupid and would bomb initially. Now I find myself using them every day and loving the spinner weapon in Hyrule Warrios. Nintendo has something special. I want Shulk for his possible X uses and I want Mario as well. I am hooked and there shouldnt be empty shelves.

I was able to get WFT, Marth, and Villager before the shortage thankfully. I need to pick up Link here soon. I already have the newest wave completely preordered after seeing how this most recent wave went. Who knew toys could be such a cut throat business.

it seems like nintendo is playing the artificial shortage marketing game again to create demand. They have done this on various things since 1987 when zelda 2 came out for the NES. There is no reason nintendo should discontinue any of these or have shortages.

Everything Nintendo doesis expensive these days. This company loves to gouge pockets. What’s sad, people willing to pay for it.

I used to collect amiibos, especially the Smash Brothers ones. Ended up with nearly 100 of them. Eventually sold them all to a collector. I pick and choose which Amiibos to purchase nowadays, but usually it's the Zelda ones.

And as usual you don’t find the iron man dude to comment on such news 😆

Nintendo gets away with murder when it comes to its game prices . They're still selling some of their last gen games for full price.

CrimsonWing69108d ago

Not just full price, but $80 when last gen it was $60… and $70… which, don’t get me started on that.

£74.99 ($100) Switch 2 games didn't last long in the UK and games on key cards are annoying. Amiibo has been problematic from the start, prices a bit high, then the scalpers get hold of them, not forgetting stupid regional exclusives. On top of that, the content you get is fairly poor, then you have a figure gathering dust. For us poor gamers (me), Nintendo should've released Amiibo without the figures, just the bases showing who was who. I paid into a few of them during the Wii U era, but not Switch. With all of this, why would Nintendo be bothered?
