Human Element: First Impressions On The World Premiere Trailer

"The dust has officially settled at The Game Awards 2014, with Dragon Age: Inquisition emerging victorious against the other equally deserving nominees and snagging this year’s “Game of the Year” award. However, this exciting event didn’t conclude without delivering a bit of much-needed information about some of next year’s most anticipated titles. While games like The Order: 1886 and Dying Light unveiled new trailers, and studios like Fullbright (Gone Home) released brand-new game details, it was the world premiere first-look at developer Robotoki’s up-and-coming title, Human Element, that left the most memorable impact on me."

It looks like crap, that is what everyone else has said about the trailer also.

The details that were released about this game when it was announced does not match what I see in the trailer, it was supposed to be dark and gritty, not some Boarder-lands rip off.

402 can defend this product all he wants, but when its released next year, it will fail hard like he does :P

Hope after that I don't have to hear from him anymore.

Glad I wasnt the only one who thought borderlands ripoff when this trailer started.

That's what I write about in the article. :) We're on the same page. I don't say it looks like crap per-say in the article, but I do highlight how the game has seemed to drastically change since its initial pitch.

"...it was the world premiere first-look at developer Robotoki’s up-and-coming title, Human Element, that left the most memorable impact on me.

Admittedly, perhaps that’s because the reveal trailer for Human Element exhibited almost no trace of its initial, humanity-exploring premise."

Human Element Dev Ceases Operations, Development on Hiatus

Remember Human Element? The class-based, zombie apocalypse game from Robert Bowling who served as the creative strategist and community manager for Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty franchise? As it turns out, Bowling’s studio Robotoki has shut down.

SaveFerris4153d ago

I guess Robotoki now lacks the 'Human Element' eh?

I'll get me coat.

Mikefizzled4152d ago

Shouldn't have given such a different impression of your game then. You described it as a gritty visceral apocalypse survival based on keeping the human element alive. Instead you made a cartoony Mad Max multiplayer shooter. I cannot understand what on earth happened.

qwertyone4152d ago

Well i guess this is a good thing, what they showed and what the described was not even close to each other.

telekineticmantis4152d ago

I thought their game looked interesting.

tigertron4152d ago

That sucks, it looked promising...

Sevir4152d ago

I guess. I feel bad the studio shut down, but the vision for the game changed completely. Definitely wasn't what it was originally announced to be.
