I, like mag, played the first two games as well as the third and I didn't have any issues with the ending. To those who believe the ending was simply a palette swap, even with the Extended Cut, you simply haven't put any thought into it.

Even the low EMS destroy ending is different than the high EMS destroy one (Shepard dies, Earth vaporized, squad dies. Versus Shepard lives, Earth saved, squad lives, repairs Normandy and goes to rescue Shepard). Sorry if you couldn't see it. See all it takes is a bit of thought on your part.

The fact that you're still standing around waiting for an official explanation from Bioware shows that you don't want to put much effort into anything, and expect things to be handed to you on a silver platter.

Leaving the ending open is only a good idea if the outcomes are good? Well, that seems to be part of the issue here as well. There was different outcomes, but you wanted a clear-cut "good" option like the previous games. Instead you essentially have each choice with pros and cons to each one. You want all pros. You want choices without consequences. Hey, you get that low EMS option, Crucible doesn't work as intended and the galaxy goes up in flames. Ooops, bad ending. Don't worry about EDI, the Crucible only targets Reapers as Hackett told you. If people want to believe it does other things like the Catalyst said, go ahead. I'm betting my life on what Hackett told me. Only Reapers are destroyed, nothing else.

People on the internet believe the indoctrination theory only goes one way. Shepard resists indoctrination, wakes up, goes up to the Citadel and actually destroys the Reapers.

It's my understanding that from what I got in the game isn't necessarily what this internet theory states. Maybe it didn't go down exactly like I said in the previous paragraph. The answers to explain the ending are there if people look for them though. All it takes is a little work on your part.

Mass Effect 3 is after all an interactive medium, so the player has to do some of the leg work. This isn't like a movie where you sit on the couch and everything is explained to you. Might have to read some codex entries; follow the story, and when you have all the pieces will the mystery be solved. Don't wait for Bioware to solve it for you, otherwise you'd be waiting a very long time.

and your jumping to conclusions because my opinion does not jive with yours, i have put hours into my understanding of the ending, my opinion is not the minority hear, and no one is waiting for anything ME3 related i assure you

and your last sentence...again, very presumptuous, i, including many here have done tons of reading as well as
watching youtube videos of other peoples opinions, most i have seen have decided to go against what bioware presented, we have actually done what you keep mentioning, taken the material and come up with our own conclusion

Are you suggesting the people making the game slapped the ending together, and thus didn't care about what they were doing? That's what I'm reading with the ending not being well thought out. In other words, thinking that they were lazy?

I don't know, if I was someone working on the game, and I poured years into a game only to be called lazy or that I didn't put enough effort for making the ending I did that was claimed to be slapped together hastily by the fans, I'd feel pretty hurt by that.

There's no way to guarantee that you are a majority either. That could mean 98% of a poll which had 60,000 votes (like the one on their forums), or 79% of 500 people. There's no way to know for sure, except maybe some official record, which only Bioware would know.

If you were a majority, the ending would have been redone, because what I'm reading from the fans. They didn't want an explanation. They wanted a completely new ending which fit with the rest of the story and was affected by their choices from the previous games. With a little extra closure on top. The Extended Cut took care of the choice and closure part (Citadel DLC added further closure), but clearly Bioware felt that the ending fit with the rest of the game. Sounds like they disagree with the fans. Hey, even Drew Karpyshyn defends the ending. Said the dark energy plot was not the intended ending. Rather the current, much hated ME3 ending is what was supposed to happen.

Under no circumstances were the fans ever guaranteed a satisfying conclusion. Doesn't matter whether this game was a 100 hour trilogy or a 10 hour movie series split into three parts.

There was even a little thing in the license agreement that a lot of people missed before they clicked the I Agree button. The entire risk of satisfactory quality and performance resides with you, it reads. Paragraph 5, for reference.

you seem to care far more about this then i so i will make this my last reply, you did assume, no matter how you word it, hell, no one mentioned lazy, i even said that their original ending was leaked so a new one had to be created quickly, that is what i was told

where in the world did you get lazy from?

im not sure what the rest of your post is trying to say...some people didn't like the ending so bioware added to it rather then a redo....okay

i get the ending bioware went for i really do, its just me and many fans dont like it, simple as that, majority or not, it doesn't matter any more anyway

your last two paragraphs are nonsense, no one is talking about guaranteed satisfaction, just an ending many considered poor and an alternative that bioware could have used and what some suggest you go with if your not happy
