That's funny because I tried morpheus and I didn't get sick nor did anyone else at the show. You don't need as much power as you think when the screens are small. You know kinda how mobile phones are now "4k". The street luge and underwater demo performed smoothly. And with many developers already on board I think your "consoles are too weak" statement is irrelevant

We aren't talking about single men into tech. The soccer mom's and college football dad's and blue collar workers who just now own a smart phone and a "smart" tv and maybe a Facebook account...

They Don't have use 3d tv, a high end pc, might own a last gen console, no Blu rays I don't see the appeal to them.

I can't talk games to family, boss, old friends that couldn't ever see video games as a hobby...only my gaming friends know about tech.

Average joes like a single mum who doesn't game at all and considers it a bit silly? (and doesn't have FB or even widescreen TV) Like various family friends and relatives (M&F) who generally dismiss gaming completely, some of whom are pretty anti gaming outside of Sudoku and Mahjong?

It works like a dream on these people as they immediately *get* the 1-1 head tracking and spacial stuff. There are a number of demos where they only need to sit in a chair and look around.

Gimme 20 mins with them and they'll at least understand why people want it. Some of them won't see the value in it, but that's always the case with anything techy. :)

I know the sort you mean - I didn't realise you were saying you *couldn't market* it to these people. :D I agree it's not going to sell to everyone. But nothing in the tech world does (apart from the Wii and smartphones). I don't think that's going to be their goal - to get everyone using it, like it was an evolutionary step up from the TV. It's not that at all.

I can see it being big for tourism, entertainment and leisure stuff once they've got the device size down though, especially once its more integrated like the GearVR offshoot.

I wear my love of games on my sleeve, and often end up being quite evangelical about it to people who are either indifferent or against it in principle. :) I've seen more gamers be negative about the validity and possible usage of VR than I have non-gamers TBH.

I think it's going to be a nice aside.
