Diablo is Action RPG.

Fallout is more true to older rpg styles and slower paced.

One thing for sure I ENJOYED playing fallout more than Diablo Series BUT diablo had so much more replay value

Lets see:

Diablo2 -> Diablo3
(all based uppon the gameplay vids available and the dev talk)
Seems to keep the original spirit and look. Is most likely a greatly evolved version that perfects the good aspects of the series and might very well be the summit of the franchise.

Fallout2 -> Fallout3
Isometric RPG bastardized into a FPS RPG wannabe
Dropped the good parts and the look of the loved series to replace it with 0815 fps looks that already bore gamers to tears. The new look to "revolutionize" the series will most likely end up garbage compared to the first two.

hmm. Ok ill confess, I HATE the new Fallout style. I played Fallout1/2 on the PC. and the way this series has been killed by making it a generic fps/rpg-wannabe hurts ..

But fallout 3 looks better to me than diablo 3. Diablo 3 looks environments that i seen look like some of the environments in hell that i seen in God of War. I'm a big third person perspective lover of video games personally but even looking at Fallout 1 and 2 i like it better than the settings of diablo 1 and 2. The post nuclear environment appeals to me more than a demon world.

I have no interest whatsoever in fallout 3 ... i gave up years ago on bethesda ...

They had the potentially brilliant but bug infested daggerfall ... then did morrowind , a more bug free daggerfall of smaller scale , with an absoluty horrible and appalling charactr design , but still a good game ...
Then they get full on success with what i'd call crap like destructoid , a game without balls , breaking up and dumbing down everything morrowind ever succeeded to do ...
A tasteless adventure without any story , no valuable quest system , the same awful caverns , the worst leveling system ever , a stupid ai that would chase you to the end of the earth for no reason , and try ripping you of 100 gold while wearing armors worth thousands ... basically it was a mmo , with only you as a player .

I always hated the lack of story and quest drive of MMOs , but they at least make it up with one big redeeming feature : they ARE multiplayer .

But back to fallout 3 .. everything i see so far points to a new oblivion game in fallout clothings ... so color me unimpressed and uninterested . I can only wish to be surprised , and hope to be proven dead wrong .

If GOD of War 3 has a 32 player online mode....which hopefully it will...

Also fallout 3 will be on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC...it will sell more units.

Diablo 3 will be good...but they should have made it a MMO...

seriously why the hell do you change something that is good? you make it better you don't freaking destroy something that was already good and create something entirely new, if you want something new you make a new game you don't take an awesome series and destroy it... seriously i love fallout and when i saw that i was like wtf... i love diablo i will defenitely buy diablo 3 rather than be buy fallout 3 and i love fallout a lot more than diablo...

I dont buy it much ... one word bethesda , period .
Them buying the license killed isometric for the game . Even without the console , the'd just just follow their previous trend from way before consoles .

And it's not like console would especially warrant and demands a fps rpg ... a 3rd person based game , without isometric 3d , would be received as well .

As I saw this post I thaught this would turn into a monkey $hit fight...I guess I was right.

I never played the original Diablo games, so at this point in time I admit that I don't really care much about Diablo 3. To me, it looks a little dull, especially with the isometric camera angle, which looks kind of dated by today's standards. Fallout 3 looks as epic and compelling as any game I've ever seen, and the switch to a more realistic, immersive first-person view and huge post-apocalyptic game world that we've never seen before in a game is exciting to me.

I really think that Blizzard is setting a proper standard for how game developers and publishers should be. Instead of screwing over their fans like how Bethesda is going to, by making a game in a fashion completely unrequested by fans, Blizzard is actually making a game the way the fans want it, while implementing features that would actually push the original game in a good way. Fans may not agree with everything, but the guys at Blizzard really know what they're doing, and they do things that don't piss people off.

Diablo 3 vs Fallout 3 is basically "tried-and-true" vs "brand-spanking-new" for me. I'm not so sure as to which game will be better received but I'm almost guaranteed to love Diablo 3 since I already know what to expect.

With that said, Obilivion was good enough to make me excited for Fallout 3 no matter how different it be compared to its predecessors.
