@doshey: this doesnt mean it will have in-game music, so dont wait for something that probaly wont happen, Microsoft has a patent on in-game music, so i doubt we'll see it this update or ever if sony doesnt find away around it.

OMG look at the droid force salviating over FW update. I guess if you had bought 360, 2 1/2 years ago you woudn't be so excited about the features rumored to be coming "NOW" on ps3. I guess next gen will start when ps3 will have ingame music, cross game comms, cross game invites, msg reading w/o quitting the game etc. All this already available 2 1/2 years ago on 360...

So what about the graphics are showing age? They look just as good as the ps3 graphics do. Some a little better some a little worse. As for paying for live... yes it does stink having to pay for a premium service, but I get by just like millions of others. If you truly had a live account you would understand how much superior it has been over psn. So many on demand movies, so many demos, so many arcade games, tv shows, music videos, e3 coverage. And the list grows every day. And that is on top of a very stable online community of people. You keep waiting for the standard features 360 players have had for years now. And any of you that do not agree, well you are just blind fanboys then because those are facts.

When you say the 360 is outdated you just sound foolish. If it were outdated then why do all the ps3 owners long for standard 360 features? Sure the console has hit a few bumps along the way but be real for a moment and look at the sheer number of great games to be had on that system. The games continue to look great in most everyone's opinion, and still rival the games on ps3.

all 360 fanboys keep talkin about this available 2 years ago crap, so what you guys also had and still have rrod payin for xbox live in the middle of a game sorry you have to pay us again bs. no wifi no hd movie player no hard drive for some people, didnt have great game til a year later with gears had the most overhyped game of all time halo3, have another big exclusive come in the form of bioshock and the list just keeps going you guys want everything that ps3 has hdd installs blu-ray movie MGS4 capacity of the blu-ray disk so you guys will never get the features we had 2 years ago but we keep getting yours

The 360's hardware is what everyone says is out dated, because it is. It, just like a PC with the same specs from 2005, is out paced by newer processor designs. Thats why Mass Effect can't stream load. The 360 has performance problems with its exclusive titles, the PS3 has problems with badly ported 360 titles.

The XBL features are common sense features, and great. No one would call XBL out-dated. Just all of the hardware features:

-hdd
-wifi
-headset
-steering wheel

There are all new and updated technologies that are out and available for the ps3 that you can't use on the older 360 hardware.

Seriously, people who are trying to make this seem as a NEGATIVE thing, piss off.

Yeah, XBL had this feature (trophies) long ago, but note that XBL is a 5 year old service, and they have yet to advanced on what they created. Yet Sony, is evolving the PSN, even at just a year and a half old.

Also, the XMB is superior to the 360's navigation menus in every single way, and this is well known, so before you say you have been able to access your dashboard (actually its not even the full thing), keep in mind that we will be accessing the award winning menu, and enjoying our FREE service that is moving a step closer to XBL every day.

This is great and all but it is just a small part of all the sweet stuff that sony will put in to the ps3. It's still early in the ps3's life span. while microsoft is looking into the next xbox ps3 will probally be getting close to it's max performance. it has so much potential. i just can't wait for the update to finally come out.

Damn how many times to you need to update your ps3? I'm sure the majority of ps3 owners don't even know that they need to update their ps3. All these features should of been available day 1. Oh well...I guess better late than never.

I've been able to do this since Jumping In and purchasing my Xbox 360 years ago, these fandroids make me laugh when they are thanking Sony about something that should have been there for day one.
