Review: Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 (DarkZero)

Dominic Sheard: "It’s curious to see where your faith lies when it comes to a video game franchise. I was a Konami sports guy back when I was playing the Nintendo 64. I loved the arcade feeling of International Superstar Soccer 64 and its follow ups. When I moved to the PlayStation 2, I carried on moving with Konami and picking up the various incarnations of Pro Evolution Soccer, with Pro Evo 5 and 6 taking away lot of my free time. I was a PES guy, enjoying how Konami’s engine worked with the mechanics of the sport. Moving to HD, the series turned for the worse, as Konami couldn't decide what perception of the sport it wanted to recreate. FIFA in the meantime found its bearings and became the undisputed king in both licence and gameplay. Last year’s Pro Evolution gave us a sign of things to come with the newly used Fox Engine, and now Konami’s flagship football game arrives on the one year old consoles full of confidence, as it feels and displays a better game of football than FIFA 15."

Konami shuts down PES 2015 servers

The online service for Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 will be terminated.

bouzebbal3562d ago

Already??? Seriously Konami?
I actually prefer PES to FIFA, but no more PES for me after what Konami has become.

Goldby3562d ago

theres a free Pes2016 game for ps4 if you have that

Godmars2903562d ago

Until they shut down the servers for that. Which could be next month.

freshslicepizza3562d ago

ea also shuts down servers to some of their older games and so has sony. sony shut down socom 4, resistance games and even gt5.

ecchiless3561d ago

And here he is, the article is talking about pes and konami, but sure lets bring ps servers to this topic, sure he talks about ea servers to sound fair..... smh

While it's their choice to do that I hate when servers go offline. I whish every game would support dedicated servers so that community would exist after the game stopped being supported.

it is to show that this isn't immune to just konami whom so many want to pick on now that what happened to kojima and their new focus into mobile gaming.

And if fifa 17 this year is using the Frostbite 3 engine and showing gameplay improvements making use of the engines benefits (including the referees and goalkeepers, and other realism improvements such as the managers coming out into their box rallying the team on, the fourth referee, net realism, better particle effects in rain, snow or foggy conditions etc) then PES could be on the back burner again.

Konami: Noun; joke of the gaming industry despite being at one point highly praised.

TwoForce3562d ago

What ? The game was about 3 years old and you shutting it down ? Really, Konami ?

hay3561d ago

One year and six months old. Officially gaming have dropped below 2 year support time.

Shubhendu_Singh3562d ago

FIFA just got a new Frostbite engine treatment...
So in response Konami shuts down their only 1 year old servers.

Keep winning Konami. You know what gamers want !!

Nice move Konami. I see you enjoying ruining this once mighty brand.
