I heard a inside rumor that the dev was taking longer on POS3 than the 360's and Pc. kinda like the same thing with GTAIV and well, quite almost like all the other games that 3rd party developers have dreaded doing for that system. so that means all other versions of the game that are completed have to wait for the one version to be done so they can all come out the same day. Not only is Sony sticking it to there loyal fans there sticking it to us now as well and that sucks.

I think Co-op gameplay and single player is more important than Multiplayer.

I'm glad this was delayed it was already a great concept I'm glad they are trying to make this a AAA.

Obviously that's why. What are they going to do? delay it to make it worse?

This is good news. If there is multiplayer in it this will be a lot higher on my radar. Multiplayer adds a whole new level of replayability. If its a single player i'm only gonna rent it. Take all your time, resistance2, little big planet, and metal gear solid 4 will occupy 2008 for me and i barely have any more money for this year.

The game seems good , really good , and it's concept really rocks . Now problem is it wasnt the best looking sandbox game to begin with , and now with each delay , and new titles like infamous , that game seems to get only uglier each month .

They better up their ante for the graphics with the new delay

Why do so many gamers get their knickers in a twist about game release dates? Even in the days of the snes/genisis, games got delayed. Sh** happens guys. Yeah delays are kinda crap, but who cares. They are just games. You know there is this place called "outside". It has a sun, a moon, air, trees, water. Just saying...

and the REAL reason why Prototype got delayed is because GTAIV came out, the devs and company saw how fantastically realized Liberty City was in conveying the look and feel of New York City, despite Liberty being fictional, and they panicked.

i got to see Prototype every time i went into work, and while the game looked enjoyable, it also looked a LOT like the Spider-Man titles from Activision, but in HD, with a character that could shapeshift.

the city of New York looked just as boring and bland as those Spider-Man games, and the only real interactivity you had with the environments was destroying vehicles, climbing the buildings, and killing pedestrians. the visuals needed a lot of work also.

it was lacking in that extra detail category that makes a place feel ALIVE (ie, debris or newspapers floating around. dust and particles in the air, etc etc. say what you will about GTAIV, but they absolutely NAILED the atmosphere and detail of Liberty City).

personally, i'm still looking forward to Prototype (and it's cousin, Infamous. i'm looking forward to Infamous moreso, however) and i'll be picking it up day one, regardless, but i'm not disagreeing completely with them saying they wanted to delay to make the game they wanted to make, but the release, and quality of GTAIV's world and environments was a LARGE factor in their realization that they needed to up their game, literally and figuratively.

i'm really hoping they can make the game that i saw concept art for, because i thought the dystopian New York looked amazing (much like the completely destroyed Chicago in Resistance 2; a complete mind f*ck on what you're used to seeing the location in the real world), and i didn't see ANY of that worn, destroyed look in the game before they pulled it from the floor to work on it.

we need more superhero sandbox titles that aren't tied down to Marvel or DC licenses, where there's no room for moral ambiguity in the characters (yeah, i'd like to see the developers explain Spider-Man ripping through someones chest with his fist if they try and alter his core values. same goes for Superman and Batman), and the only real way to do that is through original characters, with their own unique worlds and story.

also, can we PLEASE retire New York as a setting for a video game for a while?? really now, there are OTHER visually arresting locations in the world and the US to pull from. sheesh...

except that if xbox360 is the second console for MS
then isnt xbox 720 just like xbox 2.5? just an observation
