I just upgraded my video card to a 9800GTX which supports DX10. But I'll never see it since I refuse to "upgrade" to Vista. If Windows 7 is good then I might change my OS. Since XP is still the best I have no plans to change OS's.

Widows7?.... why do we it for?..... I have not even getting used to Windows Vista yet.

I cant wait for the release of the next version of Windows, it will undoubtedly be the launching of a new technological era of incredibly advanced features, interoperability and unparalleled productivity that only a Windows OS can provide.

Also honestly vista is a much much better O/S then xp it just has much more requirements than ppl thought which is why it has become a pain in the ass.

I know that its not gonna happen, but I would love it if 7 looked like Vista but ran more like XP in terms of Resource requirements. Vista is an absolute hog.
I really hope this new OS is a lot more streamlined and stable. There is no amount "features" that can justify 2+ gigs of memory being eaten, not to mention the extreme fluctuations in CPU usage, even when idle.

Oh yeah, native 32/64 bit software support (Leopard can do it) would be very nice.
I think, like most people, I dont care about touchscreens or voice recognition. I just want to run my applications efficiently.

Instead of releasing an OS that has hundreds of "services" and "processes" running in the background. Windows 7 should be released as 2 discs in 1 box. The first would be a very bare bones OS that functions as little more than an interface for the user to access their files and applications.

If people want all the extra crap, it will be on the second disc.

Imo, what MS really need is to start a new OS from scratch. Getting rid of the registry, DLLs, and everything that makes Windows unstable.

Whether or not they've done that will remain to be seen. However it's doubtful, considering the [relatively] short development time.

When I'm getting my macbook pro i am probably going to use xp, not vista.

I don't hate vista and it does some things good(i could careless if Msoft copied Apple, or Apple copied Msoft, whichever way i don't really care lol), but I have had some issues like crashes and other issues(not reading my external HDD all the time). But really yeah it just takes up alot of RAM.

But yeah xp had a lot of problems initially but they worked out a lot of them. They should of just stayed with this, and fixed the issues over time. Maybe since there were a lot of complaints with vista that they will make sure this is better though, and making sure upgrading is easy and everything, though that could of been said about going from xp to vista.

Please just make it better then vista.

Vista can be good or bad depending on what kind of a computer user you are. If you by a computer pre-loaded with Vista, you're likely to have a more smooth transition into Vista compared to if you try to upgrade a computer with XP to Vista.

Vista is a cleaned up, more organized version of XP. Vista makes creating things easier than XP does. However if you are a PC gamer, you may find Vista to be an extreme resource hog. If you were an early adapter of Vista, you probably had compatibility issues.

MS knows XP was one of their best along with Windows 2000, so if i were them I would make it to where people can enjoy it just as much as they did those two OS's and yet have a nice sleek interface and or GUI.

And the betas will be out next summer at the latest, if January 2010 is the release date...

Its all good...why should be stay with XP or Vista? The future is bright. We are only talking about an OS....Maybe Windows 7 will be good....this just means that apple will have to move faster...

I think if MS wantz us 2 upgrade, the changez must (and better) significant N beneficial.

They better pull miracles from their rectums, because if we get another Vista in 2010... I can see Microsoft lose at least 25% of their market share as a result, due to remembering the Vista fiasco.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
