Too late..the damage is already done.

DanielGearSolid4172d ago

I wouldnt say its too late BUT

Wtf, do devs test games anymore?

DigitalHope4172d ago

Today's beta testers are the worst!

Takwin4172d ago

Today's beta testers = people who preorder the game or buy it in the first week.

Plagasx4172d ago

They just care about dem preorders.

Ezz20134172d ago (Edited 4172d ago )

when you get updates/patchs with size like 15-20+GB
then no...they don't test their games

gamers are the one who test them sadly

zero_gamer4172d ago

They have gotten lazier with the pre-order culture blindly buying games without any research. They know they are secure in their sales and have no problem getting their game out asap and then duck tape it later.

This has been going on since the disastrous seventh generation, and it is here to stay. Welcome to the future of gaming.

Patrick_pk444172d ago

Our beta testers are people who just want to play the game right away and don't care about testing our glitches or informing the developers about certain bugs.

Galletto34172d ago

They do, but they have non negotiable release dates. Like yeah it could use another month to polish off all the bugs so it makes sense that it will be another month of patches to get it working properly.

They are already working on patches as the game ships, which is why they can release relatively large patches less than a week into the games life cycle.

pompous4172d ago

Yeah, but games are bigger and more complex than ever before and no matter if you have hundreds of tester they won't find them all. Then when millions get a hold of the game so many button combinations have been pressed to get to those bug/glitches to be exposed that didn't get found as nobody can predict what certain combination would do what. Think of it like the old school cheat codes. You press the button combo and then that cheat turns on.

cemelc4172d ago (Edited 4172d ago )

The beta tester are not the problem, thats an issue with project management and ubisoft, they have a release date to finish the product so instead of delays they cut corners in areas like testing.

A tester will never fail so hard that they wont notice problems like the framerate issues.

well they lost my money.
will prob pick up preowned after xmas during a quite few weeks if i get time.

rivencleft4172d ago

Step 1) Buy it used from Gamestop
Step 2) Beat game within 7 days
Step 3) Return to store for full refund

Win/Win

Ubisoft doesn't get your money and you basically get to play it for free. After Watch Dogs these are the steps I follow for every Ubisoft game.

TheXgamerLive4172d ago

Not to late, its a great game rightly so but they rush games out when a delay to December would of been better. Its all about $$$, the sooner they see a return.

performance issues still not fixed

Note that even with this patch, players may still experience:
- Most framerate issues that have been reported since the release of the game
- Performance issues

but if that fixed the other issues then good work and keep working

Ezz20134172d ago

So they release an update to fix the framerate but they still say it won't fix the framerate ?!

Amazing work ,Ubidrop.

Abriael4172d ago

They didn't release an update to fix the frame rate. They released an update. People said it was to fix the frame rate because it looks better in headlines, I guess.

Mykky4172d ago

They have not released the patch to fix the framerate or performance yet. This update was for: "Arno falling through the ground. Game crashing when joining a co-op session. Arno getting caught inside of hay carts. Delay in reaching the main menu screen at game start."

Ezz20134172d ago

oh ok thanks guys
but what's the point of this update if it not fixing the main problem with the game which is framerate?!

Mykky4172d ago

They are probably working on the framerate issue but releasing patches to fix bugs is also necessary as there are a lot of them.

Unspoken4172d ago

Patch is working great. Increased frame rate, reduced sli bugs, and no flickering or hitching. Game looks smooth at 1440p Ultra settings with FXAA on a 970 SLI setup.

R6ex4172d ago

Other than the occasional 3s freeze, I didn't notice any other significant problem on my i5-970 setup. I'm actually very impressed with the game's living-breathing Paris - thousands of interactive AI NPCs. Its an amazing game!

rivencleft4172d ago

I think the update they released fixed the issues people were having with microtransactions. So of course Ubisoft fixes the one thing that helps them make MORE money off of the game without fixing the real issues within the game.

thornh4172d ago

The happiest people in the world right now are those working over at Evolution Studios. Remember them? Driveclub? Anyone? They're prepping a big "Thank You" gift basket for Ubi Montreal right now.

scark924172d ago

I guess, at least it does not single them out!

xer04172d ago

At least their game isn't riddled with bugs! Network issues, are very different from a bug riddled game.

It shows that Ubisoft are prepared to sell us an unfinished product. Watchdogs was a poor game, that tried to be GTA.. and came after a delay with lots of bugs.

Now we have Assasins Creed..

Greedy Ubisoft are done in my eyes. They will not get another penny from me.

Ju4172d ago

Considering how much flack DC actually got this is a walk in the park for Ubi. In contrast DC wan't broken. This one, however, is.

Edvin19844172d ago

Just got the game for $12.50 on eBay downloaded played for a hour not bad at all.

Edvin19844171d ago

Works fine now I can't complain really. Game looks amazing.

ultralow4172d ago

its not to late alor of ppl wont play this game until x-mas

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

andy85765d ago (Edited 765d ago )

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate
