Angry Joe Reviews Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Angry Joe gives his thoughts on Activisions yearly shooter.

ape0074081d ago

hmmmm this guy must have dopamine deficiency

BiggCMan4081d ago

So he hates fun just because he didn't really enjoy a game? I don't really understand how people think this way. He didn't enjoy it like some others did, move on.

Gazondaily4081d ago

Yeah pretty much said the same thing I did in my review. Spot on again. Good.ol Joe

Cream4081d ago

Love the review... and the Mega Man music.
Finally an honest review.
AW kinda blows.
Multi player lags and same BS hit detection.

All they had to do was dedicated servers and they blew it.
I'm not going to buy the new maps!

NarooN4081d ago

You've already shown yourself to be a huge CoD fanboy, so it's no shock you'd comment like this about him, lol.

He has an opinion that's different than yours, deal with it.

ape0074081d ago (Edited 4081d ago )

yeah i a huge cod fan but my interest has gone way down after the original iw left

and u cant call me a fanboy because i always say that ghosts and mw3 (especially ghosts) were huge disappointmens

i admit when things suck

* I've already traded it in. It WAS fun for like a day or two, but got old faster than any COD game before it.

( I didn't play ghosts)....

* There was nothing about it that made me want to play more. I mean the maps were nice, but the gameplay isn't that fun.

I like the fast pace but it's geared towards limiting your skill.

It's like there is a skill governor on it that allows less skilled people to get more kills by having them pop out of nowhere.

It's the least satisfying COD I've ever played, even though I really liked it initially.

Something between day 2-3 I realized I have no desire or urge to play it anymore,so I traded it in.

* It doesn't suck, it does some nice things, it's just not that skill based.

Even when I was doing really well and dominating a match, it wasn't fun to do so....

* For me Destiny, COD:AW & Titanfall all lacked that "fun factor", that has been in older FPS games.

Haven't quite figured it out, because it's not just one thing, it's most likely a mix of a few things leading me to feel this way about these games.

There is something about these games that is missing though.....

Phene4081d ago

Yeh man, great presentations but the fun just isn't there

Themba764081d ago

I %100 agree. I just hope this franchise doesn't continue for another 10 years thats like the same game for 20 years. something innovative needs to happen here seriously.

u got owned4081d ago (Edited 4081d ago )

Yeah but if they try to change the formula then everyone will complain that they changed the formula. Like people have been doing with Halo.

There is no win situation when it come to this games, i think its because there have been too many versions already.

BTW this review is full of spoiler. He practically narrated the whole game. Really bad review.

Phene4081d ago

Or they could just retire the franchise?

u4one4081d ago

Personally I'm dead sick of COD, but I admittedly have been enjoying the AW campaign to my surprise. I only bought it because it seemed to at least make an attempt at some new stuff. I'd say its the best COD in years. I probably won't play the multiplayer too much, which seems completely backwards for a COD game, but I guess thats kind of my point. The campaign doesn't feel like an afterthought.

tlougotg4081d ago (Edited 4081d ago )

I am a big critic of COD and it was boycotted in my house for the past three years. On that note i will say COD AW campaign and mp are solid and very fun and refreshing from other CODS. Angry Joe its your opinion but i will now be very skeptical of your reviews.

u4one4081d ago

i feel exactly the same.

TitanUp4081d ago

I also took a 3 year break and I have to say COD advanced warfare surprised me.

Klonoa-dreamtraveler4081d ago

about the only thing i could agree with him was the pvp. i like angry joe reviews and i know cod has been lacking alot the few years but this cod i see they put effort maybe not the effort to some expected but definitely the effort to the right direction. plus i think he probably did suck at multiplayer from him saying hes been away from cod a bit and playing with people that are more knowledgeable of it having the upper hand i can see him getting frustrated and already get a bad vibe off it to give it such a score.

That is a shame. AW is my favourite CoD. I hope they do a sequel one day.

LordoftheCritics1014d ago

Thoroughly enjoyed AW.

Good campaign and everything.

LOGICWINS1014d ago

Same. Fantastic campaign, but I wasn't crazy about the jetpacks in multiplayer.

RaidenBlack1014d ago

I still prefer CoD based on historical settings or in near future settings(like CoD: Ghost) ... even though I liked infinite Warfare's campaign ... it was top notch

CobraKai1014d ago

I felt it was a good time to revisit WW2

porkChop1014d ago

I actually really enjoyed WWII. I never understood the hate it got.

JEECE1014d ago

A lot of people who never played a shooter prior to like 2012 get really mad about anything that isn't a modern combat game.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare remains the series' lone bright spot this gen

GR: "If one series truly defined the seventh generation of consoles it was Call of Duty. Sadly, the series has struggled to reach the same heights on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and only Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare feels like the previous era of innovation and top-notch storytelling."

I quite enjoyed it but I think black ops 3 was the high point.

Modern warfare could be if a few tweaks are made and the new maps are good.

Baza2263d ago (Edited 2263d ago )

Story wise.. black opps 3 was all over the place. Modern Warfare story is so much more cohesive and actually makes sense.

Immorals2263d ago

Black ops 3 was terrible. The story was absolutely atrocious.

Knushwood Butt2263d ago

I quit that campaign after about an hour. All I remember is some crappy robot drone combat R2D2 thing that you had to use. I didn't make it past that.

Epicor2262d ago

For me the Black Ops installations have always been the high peaks in terms of PVP mode. Black ops 3 campaign was pretty bad though. Advanced Warfare's campaign was pretty good, one of the best ones - but PVP was bad!

gamer92263d ago

LOL Advanced Warfare, too funny

2263d ago
Kabaneri2263d ago

The campaign was OK, but the guns sounded like cap guns and the multiplayer maps were not memorable at all.
