Assassin's Creed: Unity launch debacle sparks Ubisoft rethink

Embattled publisher Ubisoft has said it will provide early access to some of its future games following the controversial launch of Assassin's Creed: Unity.

The PC version of Assassin's Creed: Unity appears to suffer the most.
Today the company took the unusual step of launching a live blog to chart its work fixing Assassin's Creed: Unity's plethora of launch bugs. Ubisoft's next patch will address a few common issues, such as main character Arno falling through the floor.

I find it hard to believe that Ubi had no idea these issues existed, and that now they suddenly care. As someone who works in the software industry, I can tell you leadership makes ship/gold decisions regardless of the state of the product. This is something that occurs industry wide. ANY publicly traded company that tells you that they don't knowingly ship products with bugs is flat out lying.

Also recall here with Ubisoft that there was an embargo they put in place for reviews. This shows pretty clearly they were FULLY aware of the issues, but needed to ship product to appease shareholders.

The state of the video game industry is just depressing right now console wars, haters aka fanboys,console parity, game developers rushing games to cash in. I remember when this was a happy hobby.

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate
