"Could Sony be working on a 360? With the recent rumor (credit goes to EGM's Quartermann) that Microsoft will be allowing 3rd party manufacturers make Xbox 360 hardware, it's certainly a possibility. Keep in mind this is all speculation, but the idea behind this makes a lot of sense for Microsoft as well as other hardware companies.
Microsoft is a company that is truly built on the strength of its software, and it's easy to see why. Microsoft Game Studios is incredibly successful, and has a ridiculously good 2008 lineup. On the other hand, console sales are a bit of a wash. Consoles rarely, if ever, are money makers for the companies putting them out. In fact, in 2005, Microsoft was losing about $125 on each Xbox sold. While licensing and creating games is certainly a great source of income, hardware sales aren't.
It hardly makes sense to limit hardware creation to just one company, especially if others can do it better, and get more units in households. The "Red Ring of Death" fiasco that forced the company to extend Xbox 360 warranties to a full three years is proof enough that Microsoft might not be the best for the job in the first place. Taking a look at the three other gaming platforms reveals a great benefit for themselves and for Microsoft were this to take place."

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

Spiders: "We're going to cut straight to the chase so you're not left wondering: After a long period without clear answers, we have received confirmation that Spiders is being liquidated.
What does it mean? This means the company as a whole no longer exists. We'll cease our functions immediately. The planned DLC will release via Nacon, and then-- well, that's it.
We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."
Nice title.
I was thinking something like this with the recent rumor about the 360 hardware being open for other developers. Should be interesting to see how they use it.
Nice, I hope its true, might open the door to companies not working the damndest to destroy the others and start working together
Dude I heard rumors about a "Playbox" like 3 years ago. EVERYONE was saying that.
If they made a console that could play both PS3 and 360 games... just WOW. That would be freaking intense.
It would have Sony's hardware reiablity and style and media functionality and Microsft's software programming and online work plus ALL Sony and Mcirsft first and Third party titles = OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GGGGGG ORGASM.
You know the rumors about Microsft doing something "desperate" at E3....could this be it...would Sony even want to merge with Microsft?
FUK Nintendo...it should be Sony and Microsft..wow this would seriosuly be such a MASSIVE win for any gamer. What if its true? Microsft is already struggling and H3LL YEA Sony want Microsft on borad to help with Blu Ray and everything.
LMAFOOOOOOOOO if this happens. SERIOUSLY it would be the best thing to ever happen to video games. It would be set in stone. No one would EVER be able to challenge Sony and Microsoft together. And they are both the BEST at what they do.
Think about it. They'd sale 160 milion consoles or more. There would be possibly 80 million people on Live.
Every game thats sold would have playstation with the PS symbol and then also the "Live" symbol. Who knows they could merge names...but why would you when Playstation is already such a massive brand and you could just make Live(Microsofts only positive thing thought of with Xbox) and just merge.
Dude, it would be HUGE. Both companies would make MASSIVE amounts of money and we would be playing on the most amazing MONSTER of a Playstation ever fathomed. It would have every great series ever on a PS,Xbox or PC. LMAO
I hope it happens. We would win SO BIG.
