Lets hope my GTX 770 still can muster this game on decent settings.

christrules00414208d ago

I'm wondering the same thing about my 760. Although I hope it's optimized better so they get rid of the freaking stutter that makes me motion sick!

DuoBrian4208d ago

I remember that from Far Cry 3. My friend couldn't play it because of how bad he gets motion sick.

starchild4208d ago (Edited 4208d ago )

Far Cry 3 is perfectly smooth for me. I get a rock solid 60+fps on my GTX 770, but even on my other PC with an HD 7950 I get smooth performance, although I think I probably turned down a setting or two.

Patrick_pk444208d ago

I can't wait for this. I hope the game is optimized so I can run 2K, max settings, with 60fps on my GTX970

Unspoken4208d ago

You play at 2048x1536? Odd.

zeldapkmn4208d ago

LOL. Optimal requirements are GTX 680 and an i5 processor. Who knows, maybe Ubisoft actually optimized their game this time.

Plagasx4208d ago

I ran Far Cry 3 60fps most of the time with my 770..

This looks to be slightly more demanding though because of the fur technology and stuff..

I'm hoping it's really optimized though.

sungam3d4208d ago (Edited 4208d ago )

Yeah I have the 770 too.
Managed to pull off COD AW, max everything at 90-120fps. But that's not open world.

It is a beasty little card.

Might have to tone down the shadows though, for some reason that craps out the fps.

Meltic4208d ago

Even on my gtx 970 it can suffer from lag if the game is poorly optimized..

I don't think nVidia got the memo regarding Youtube now supporting 60fps.

Lon3wolf4208d ago

NVidia did not upload the video.

AndrewLB4208d ago (Edited 4208d ago )

Yea. But they made the video.
http://www.geforce.com/game...

I think this forum would have far less problems if people actually took a minute to check the facts before attempting to correct someone.

Here's another one they recently released for Assassin's Creed: Unity.
http://youtu.be/NYfYekrAPAE
and the source: http://www.geforce.com/game...

After watching the AC:Unity video, it seems all the complaining around this forum about the game being downgraded is simply nonsense. They made the mistake of comparing the PC version running nVidia Gameworks technology to the recently leaked PS4 footage. Anyone with half a brain understands that most of those technologies like HBAO+, PCSS Soft Shadows, TXAA, and Hairworks are currently nVidia proprietary technology. While I know there has been talk about a few of them being used on these consoles, don't hold your breath.

Starchild- Those effects are exclusive to nVidia graphics cards.

starchild4208d ago

@AndrewLB

Well, some of them are exclusive to Nvidia graphics cards, but some of the others will run on AMD cards as well. Anyway, that's part of the reason I prefer Nvidia cards most of the time.

Lon3wolf4208d ago

So they made the video for their own site, and someone else posts them on Youtube, still not getting how NVidia are getting criticized for someone else posting 30fps on Youtube.

Plagasx4208d ago (Edited 4208d ago )

There is a 60fps version now.. I think every single PC trailer released on Youtube from here on out should be at 60fps..

There is no reason for it not to...unless they're just being lazy.

sungam3d4208d ago (Edited 4208d ago )

*Opens FRAPS*

Youtube video that says it is 60fps is only 35-37 fps...

Meanwhile other custom video players that show 60+fps videos are actually 60fps.

I love the graphical enhancements that Ubisoft puts into the PC versions of their games. It really does result in much better looking games. Far Cry 4 on PC is packed with some really nice exclusive graphical features and looks amazing.

DougLord4208d ago

This is the 1st game where my 3 year old $3,000 PC (without monitor) qualifies as the minimum capable of playing. Actually I have 2x5850s in xfire and an I7-920, but it's still the 1st game to list my parts as barely adequate. How the he'll are the minimum PC specs so high while it runs on an Xone or PS4. Shows you how well optimized those consoles really are.

sorane4208d ago (Edited 4208d ago )

No way you paid $3000 3 years ago for that PC unless you got majorly ripped off. I have a 6+ year old backup PC with a 5870 and i7-930 that didn't even cost half that much when it was new and that was with a monitor. The minimum requirements are also less than a 6+ year old PC so not sure why you would think they are high.

Joydivision394208d ago

Wait you guys haven't heard? Ubisoft is pulling all its new games from steam, have to buy it from Uplay now.

Th3o4208d ago (Edited 4208d ago )

It's been confirmed for UK only, not globally.

It has been pulled form the store ATM globally but the pull was only meant for UK.

For now we'll wait and see.

Already bought it on steam, thank god I hate uplay alone.

late but still a good move, oobi

InUrFoxHole381d ago

Seriously, it's great to see devs add things to older games.

OhReginald381d ago

Sony....you're really letting ubisoft out of all all companies to out class you??? Give us the bloondborne 60 fps patch....ffs

dantesparda381d ago

I second this (Bloodborne 60fps) plus damn, Ubisoft, you're doing great but now the last thing I want youi to do is mae Far Cry Primal 60fps and AC Unity

Profchaos381d ago

Everytime someone asks for a bloodborne patch it gets delayed 1 day.

ETA next century

I_am_Batman380d ago

They know it's gonna cost them sales of the inevitable Remake that'll probably come around the PS6 launch.

raWfodog381d ago

Good news for when, or If, I ever play it. It’s waaay down on my backlog list lol.

P_Bomb381d ago

I like these 60fps patches. Hoping they’ll do Ghost Recon Wildlands someday.

Yi-Long381d ago

Kudos to Ubisoft for once again going back to older titles and then offering a nice upgrade for free. I know the company gets a lot of criticism, in quite a few cases understandable and justified, but in this area of contintued post-launch support for their SP games, they deserve some credit.

Ubisoft Removes Nudity in Silent Far Cry 4 Update (New Info: Changes Reverted)

Update: Ubisoft has acknowledged that the Japanese version of the game, which includes regional censorship, was mistakenly released globally. The company says it has reverted these changes in the game's worldwide branch.

Ubisoft has quietly removed nudity from Far Cry 4 in a recent update, sparking speculation about Tencent’s growing influence on the publisher.

You can murder, mame, and viciously attack people, but anything that deals with showing a body in a natural state whether for titillation or narrative, is some truly terrible thing. We are so weird with our puritan thought process. Feed our bloodlust and fuel our enjoyment for entertainment of simulating acts of harm and murder, but god forbid you see digitized TnA. It will never make sense to me.

Rebel_Scum405d ago

tbh even if they did remove it, it doesnt matter. I dont even remember when there was nudity in the game. If it was there it was so inconsequential.

B5R405d ago

Agreed. It absolutely makes no sense

Also, even though Ubisoft reverted the changes that removed nudity, there's the bigger issue of developers being able to make large changes to the game you paid for whenever they want.

Kassanova07405d ago (Edited 405d ago )

Stellar Blade comes to mind. This is why buying physical is the way to go.

Played and enjoyed Far Cry, Far Cry 3 and 4 campaigns .

-Foxtrot792d ago

4 wasn’t so bad

Pagan Min was pretty entertaining

Skuletor792d ago

Yeah, 4 was good, was hard choosing which Golden Dawn member to side with, when they were both pieces of sh!t.
I've beaten all the main entries except 2 and 6, ended up uninstalling 6 to download something else instead.

Profchaos792d ago

I'd love a far cry pack with the original PC game (not the half assed port on ps360) instincts, predator even a port of far cry 2 to modern consoles back when these games had their own identity and weren't far cry 3 cut and pastel

Demetrius792d ago

Still one of my most favorite franchises along with assassins creed

banger88792d ago (Edited 792d ago )

Same here, I don't know why these games get so much hate. I've thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them, with only a couple of exceptions. I wish they'd hurry up and announce Far Cry 7. The only thing I'm concerned about is the rumoured time limit.
