Dying Light – Zombies Galore

The initial idea was to make “Dying Light” part of the “Dead Island” series, but Techland (Developer) decided that they had more than enough uniqueness to establish it as a separate game. Apart from their disagreements with Deep Silver (publisher) in terms of business, they also disagreed upon the vision “Dead Island” was based on. Now fans can look out for something a little more exciting, IWBAG hopes.

Dying Light looks WAY BETTER then Dead Island 2, I'm glad Techland did there own thing.

Deep Silver's vision of Dead Island 2 is more of a Dead Rising game in first person with perks, no thanks.

I like both but Dying Light looks better so far by a long shot.

Dead Island 2 may look more kooky now but truth is I will probably play it at some point as I liked other Dead Island games even if flawed and this one looks more "fun" even if so far it is less serious. Sometimes I just want to shoot stuff and DI2 seems to fill that role thus far.

Dying Light though is everything DI should be in a sense which is part of why I like it so much more. I'm glad it got brought forward a little as well as may sell better just a little sooner than all the bigger games in February-plus it gives me more uninterrupted zombie time.

Deep Silver is a publisher. Yager are the ones developing Dead Island 2.

RG_Dubz4214d ago (Edited 4214d ago )

Nobody posted anything saying they weren't the developer.. Also it's quite obvious to even those who don't know anything about gaming that Deep Silvers a publisher, it only states it in the article.. Not that you bothered to read it.

"Unfortunately they are only retarded during the day."

I don't believe it... Someone actually used the word retarded correctly...

WELL DONE SIR! You get an entire box of Kudos.

OT: I am very excited for this game for the coop. My friend and I really enjoyed the original Dead Island, for what it was, and couldn't be more ready for more coop on our current gen systems. We're getting towards the end of our time with Diablo 3, so come on January! Well... tail end of January!

You still have Farcry, AC, and Dragon Age's coop mode to look forward too (and Halo if own a One). It is a great time for coop fans.

I knew holding off playing it for 10 years was the right call.

I remember playing this for the first time on the PS4 and it knocking me sick and hurting my eyes due to the horrible motion blur and FPS.

Played it a lot on pc a year later. Then again on ps5 once they dropped the 60fps update. I'll be giving it another go. Mad how they have kept updating this game for 10 years.

Ten Years Later - Still Going Strong: Dying Light: Retouched Update Releasing June 26

Hey Survivors! Tymon here, your favorite Dying Light Franchise Director.

It's been an absolutely wild month here at Techland! We're in the thick of what I'm calling the "Summer of Dying Light," delivering updates and big news across all three Dying Light games. Just a few weeks ago, we dropped the first gameplay for Dying Light: The Beast, revealed its release date, and kicked off pre-orders (if you haven't seen it, check out my last dev blog). I'm incredibly proud of what we're building with The Beast - it’s the culmination of more than 10 years of experience in open-world survival horror!

But here's the thing: we never forget where we came from. That's why, this week, we're not just looking forward - we're rolling out significant updates for both the original Dying Light and Dying Light 2: Stay Human. We promised to support our games for a long time, and we're committed to continuing that support, right through and beyond the launch of Dying Light: The Beast.

Nobody bought it for an obvious reason.

Wtf did this edition come with ? A real helicopter and a real zombie virus ?

Vithar454d ago

For one lucky person willing to spend $386,000, the My Apocalypse Edition of Dying Light promised a staggering collection. It included the buyer’s face in the game, a human-sized ‘Volatile’ statue, and parkour lessons with a freerunning team. It also came with night vision goggles, an all-expenses paid round trip to Techland’s offices, and four signed copies of the game. Oh, and it also came with a custom-built, ‘zombie-proof’ survival shelter.

LOL but it was a stunt from the team:
‘It was a PR stunt and got a lot of media attention for its wild and over-the-top nature, it was designed to generate buzz around the game’s release. It did a great job of getting the game noticed, though! But nobody purchased it – thankfully, I guess!’
