Bayonetta 2 is full of sexuality, but does that make it sexist? Gamemoir's Nick D. takes a look at satire and sexuality in gaming’s most over-the-top game.

finally an article that looks at sexuality without making it some BS diatribe about "objectification" and "the male gaze" and how we should flagellate ourselves being being sexually attracted to women.

feminists and SJWs have basically turned bayonetta into their "prime example" of sexist portrayals of women in video games and see it as something we need to eradicate. and im just like.... really? bayonetta. that, to you, is the epitome of gaming misogyny? that is the game that has all of you enraged and indignant? this is what disturbs and upsets you?

bayonetta is the furthest thing from a shallow ditzy princess. she is insanely powerful and has a wit and charm to her. why wouldnt she flaunt her sexuality? that is part of her character. but feminists see sexuality and instantly attribute that to hating women, somehow. they are worse than the super religious when it comes to suppressing sexuality

They also willfully ignore the fact that Bayo's character designer is female.

I wish the whole debate would just go away. All of the entertainment industries objectify men and women in various ways. Male tropes in games are just as exaggerated and unrealistic as female tropes in games. The only way to resolve this situation is for all games to allow you to create your own character so you only have yourself to blame if the protagonist in the game upsets your delicate sensibilities.

Bayonetta herself, is probably the main reason I wouldn't buy Bayonetta 2. I just got a wii u, and was looking for 2 weeks for a good action game, yet ans still, cant relate or enjoy, or take a character like that serious. I cant imagine a prostitute running around saving lives, and thats what she dresses, and behaves like, NO! It's insulting to my intelligence. Everything has its place, you wanna do that stuff, just make a porn game.

That's just it, somehow being sexually attracted to a woman is wrong. Even though it's a function of biology. Biology is sexist and needs to change? That's a losing proposition for them.

Seriously though, if they are so concerned about male gaze and objectification, why don't they turn their sites on the porn industry first and not the game industry?

It wouldnt be Bayonetta without the sexiness.. Fantastic game non the less... Even if it didnt have those scenes which arent even that bad & cover the privates, its still one of the best action games EVER!

Why Bayonetta 3 Is a Step Down From Its Predecessor

Many fans have been expressing their disappointment with Bayonetta 3. Here's why the recently released game is a clear step down from Bayonetta 2.

MadLad1275d ago (Edited 1275d ago )

Yet the Switch is much more powerful than the Wii U - the platform the second game released on. So you're just being negative to be negative with that comment.

anast1275d ago

The voice acting wasn't as good...

jBlakeeper1275d ago

Bayonetta herself doesn’t even look as good design wise.

I thought they focused on big kaiju like fights which felt gimmicky and thy brought this new character in to try and get away from the leading star

*Spoilers*

I mean they pretty much killed 3 big characters. They killed Jeanne, Luka and Bayonetta herself and it's not the fact they died it's how they died, we've seen Jeanne and Bayonetta survive countless things yet they go out by the lamest ways possible.
