Gosen: Microsoft's E3 will be 'game changing'

European VP of strategic marketing for interactive entertainment at Microsoft EMEA David Gosen has told MCV that the platform holder will unveil some 'fantastic surprises' at E3 this year as it steps up its efforts in the mass market space.

"We're always working on new things, and you'll continue to hear lots from us that we believe will be game-changing," he told MCV.

Silogon6518d ago

Game changing huh?

What is it this year DIG DUG 25 special edition instead of Pac MAN!! Remember that MEGATON?

I like the thought of Microsoft doing something big, because Sony probably isn't, but I think all 3 are going to under perform this year. It's a shame too, cause Sony needs more than a leaked in game XMB feature and a handful of follow ups to their launch games.

Microsoft needs 1st party exclusives and find their voice this year

Nintendo needs to remember who made them what they are. The hardcore. In turn they need to stop being idiots and releasing plastic junk and tart making games!

FredFredrickson6518d ago

I don't think any of them will under-perform this year. - video games is one of the few markets in the US which isn't being affected so much by the poor economy.

wolfehound226518d ago (Edited 6518d ago )

Dude why do you even play games. I very rarely see you say anything positive about any system specifically sony. I think you may just be happier quitting all together now before you have a heart attack from all the stress this stuff seams to bring you.
I know you say your just being honest, but if being honest brings this much anger and disgust maybe its better to just give up on gaming. Or just give up on sony and go play with your 360 since you seem to have a little less negativity towards them. Maybe my standards aren't as high as yours because I'm pretty happy with the lineup coming out this year. Ya would it be nice if they had more surprise games ya, but everything that is coming out looks good.

Silogon6518d ago

Hey, as long as you're happy. Settling for average isn't a bad thing sometimes. At least you never get your hopes up to have them let down later.

I'm giving you a bubble, man! Whooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

OgTheClever6518d ago

that Silogon just made his first ever positive comment.

kingme716518d ago

I think Silogon just needs a hug and maybe a bubble or two. He may be able to spot the one pimple on Angelina Jolie, but he is entertaining.

Tomdc6518d ago

angelina jolie is ugly.

shes sexy deffinetely, but I think shes ugly.

mabreu6518d ago

I do believe Nintendo has very little to show for the wii and DS. Microsoft has GeOW2 and the new motion controller to be excited about. Also, M$ can drop the price of the 360 too. Sony has the most potential with it's future line-up. GOW3, RS2, LBP, KZ2, HOME, a price drop, and a revamped XMB are expected. However, I would not be surprised if they show up with just mediocre material.

thenickel6518d ago

Hey good post and bubbles to you.

wolfehound226518d ago

Who says I am setteling for mediocre. Why because you say so. Dude just because you think stuff is crap doesn't mean everyone else does. I've seen time and time again where someone says something positive about a game your quick to bash them and rip them for being happy with mediocre sh!t. Why not try to be less critical about every peace of news you may actually find enjoyment in games which is what there supposed to be. If there is an issue by all means state it, but I find it hard to believe that every little thing should cause you so much grief.

MADGameR6518d ago

ROFL I thought they were confident with their 360? What happened?

dantesparda6518d ago

Unless they unveil some really impressive never before sh!t. But i dont see it. I mean, motion controls? come on! we can get that on the Wii right now, and i dont see many of youse jumping with joy over that. But hey we'll see.

And p.s. i am talking about both Sony and MS when i say "they".

trikster406518d ago

LOL at "Nintendo needs to remember who made them what they are. The hardcore. In turn they need to stop being idiots and releasing plastic junk and tart making games!"

Dude, hang out in a game store and tell me the percentage of "hardcore" people buy Wii's and DS's.

Hate to tell you, but its new and casual gamers that have made Nintendo the only profitable company this gen.

As for me, I hate what Nintendo has become, but then again, I can't stomach another generic Mario "enter activity here" game. I outgrew Nintendo back in the Genesis days.

Evil0Angel6517d ago (Edited 6517d ago )

this E3 could feature this EXCLUSIVE

*forza 3
*GEARS OF WAR2

*VIVA PINIATA
*LIPS(SING STAR rip off )

*BANJO :NUTS AND BALL
*Too Human

That is all microsuck has left.

OOG6518d ago

it will be interesting to see what all the companies have this e3....it may be a half decent e3 for the first time in a few years...and for the most part most companies have been a little hush hush about what they have....

Nevers6518d ago

This year's E3 has the potential to be really good mainly because the last few have been so especially lack-luster. All hype with no delivery...

Booourns6518d ago

E3 should be interesting

Can't wait to see what everyone has to offer.

TheMART6518d ago

Doesn't matter to me what or who they bought, as long as I'm getting the good games on my gaming console of preference!

Stupid comments. It doesn't matter if a company build a dev or bought a dev. They're both paying people. If a company build the dev, they also kind of 'bought' the people.

Again: I don't care as long as they keep the games coming they may spend all the money they earn with Windows. I really don't give a flying fack and its strange the Sony fandroids see this as a problem. I see it as a strenght, an investment in us as gamers.

Nice I finally have found something I can agree with Mart on. Thank you for trying not to troll this time (drop the anti-other console thingy you do and you'll be finally a respected member of the community). Bring the games - forget the rest ^_^

/salute + agree

InMyOpinion6518d ago

If Sony did the same thing you would consider it a "smart strategy move".

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.
