Pixel Heroes is a charming side scrolling pixel art dungeon crawler/hero sim/rpg in which you take a team of heroes on an adventure full of random humor, random characters, randomly generated loot and randomly generated quests.
It’s always a delicate balancing act trying to appease both modern and old-school audiences with mostly nostalgia alone.
Pixel Heroes: Byte & Magic by developer Bitfather is a turn-based action game that reminds me of a mix between the original Dragon Warrior and Oregon Trail. It succeeds in satisfying nostalgic yearnings but still leaves a few things to be desired.
