Yeah, don't see how this could help you with this game. Cool to be able to do it, but the game is hard enough already. This makes it nearly impossible.

thezeldadoth4247d ago

because its interesting. always such pessimism on this site when it comes to games. quit hating on everything.

Jughead34164247d ago

Hating? I think I actually said it was cool. Just don't think 1st person helps for how difficult the game is. Think about actually trying to play Dark Souls in 1st person. You'd die like twice as much. Expressing this opinion is hating though? Whatever.

theDivision4247d ago

What? Speaking my opinion isn't hating and it's not pessimistic either. One of the best parts about this came I think is being in third person. I am a huge third person fan in games and it adds a much better feel to the game than what first person does (again imo). You are making a judgment about everyone based on a single opinion that I think the majority of core dark souls players would agree with...

@jughead

You know he did not reply to you right?

Lon3wolf4247d ago

@theDivision

Why wouldn't you?

theDivision4247d ago

Because it limits my field of vision severely in a game where there are traps all day long. It also prevents me from seeing how bad ass I look all the time. Also unless the back stabs and riposte finishes have been redone it makes those a lot less climactic.

Did you watch the video? The combat is my favorite part about the game and you can barely see the move sets or anything. I also couldn't tell if he was being hit or back stepping a lot.

Spenok4247d ago

So they can play it kind of like TES I imagine. Or simply because they can do it. Not surprisingly, it seems to make combat not fun at all looking.

Skyrim had a nifty camera mod that really amped up the immersion. It tied the camera 1:1 with your characters head, so if your head tilted, so did the camera, so on so forth.

Jughead34164247d ago (Edited 4247d ago )

Seeing the monsters more close up in 1st person would look pretty cool. Probably would get destroyed though

oIITSBIIo4247d ago

Nice . I will try this for sure .

Dante814247d ago

So this is as close as we're going to get to a new King's Field. Love that series along with Souls.

Many of those who hate Dark Souls II hate it because it's not Dark Souls. The same people love Dark Souls III because it isn't Dark Souls II.

And so many of the issues at the centre of common complaints about DS2 are present in DS3 and sometimes even DS1. The hatred and bile spewed over this perfectly decent game is ludicrous.

CrimsonWing69393d ago

I don’t think it’s a terrible game, but like a movie sequel by a different director, for me, it does NOT capture any of the “magic” felt from the Miyazaki entries. Boss battles don’t feel epic, environments don’t have the same sense of awe, the enemy variety isn’t particularly interesting, the art direction just feels bland, about the only thing I can give it praise for is some of the music.

Now, again, this is only how I feel about it, so I’m not trying to invalidate his you feel about the game, but it is the worst entry in the series due to those factors and it’s the least re-visited entry, for me.

Is it decent as a game on its own? Sure. But in comparison to the Miyazaki entries, it does not stack up and I believe that’s where many were disappointed with it.

PrimeVinister393d ago

Completely fair. I cannot disagree either, mate.

MrWood393d ago (Edited 393d ago )

You can also play it in VR flawlessly on PC & controller with the LukeRoss mod so… another reason to jump back in with extra immersion.

jznrpg393d ago

It’s not a bad game it’s just not as good as the others

Shadow Man393d ago

The controls felt very clunky to me, I tried playing it after beating Darksouls 3 and it didn’t feel fluid, obviously the hit detection is less superior for been an older game.

Man, I dunno about that. In fact, most boss fights in Dark Souls 2 were forgettable.
