I've had a 360 for near 1 year now and i must say its the best console i have owned games wise.. And i have owned almost all of them. Now just 3 days ago the graphics card took a dump on me.. So now after calling MS and setting up pick up and service on my console i will be out of commission for 2-4weeks. Oh btw MS was very helpful and supportive over the phone. Man this is THE game i've wanted and been waiting for sense purchase of my console. To miss playing it on DAY 1 will be upsetting, but i guess its better than owning only a PS3 and missing out completely on it... Oh btw i have 22 games for my 360 and even with the inconvenience of this i am still glad i purchase it. Game on.......

Silicon Knights have a track record for superlative games with great stories and gameplay that pushes boundaries in their genres. Anybody who's had the privilege of playing Eternal Darkness and considers the amount of time that they've spent developing this title should know that this is a title to watch very carefully and not dismiss so lightly.

Sure the engine is relatively new being developed over the last 2yrs but the core mechanics in terms of D&D, balancing and story have had 10yrs to be refined and enhanced. And given that SK has a reputation for superior and groundbreaking art, level and camera design the title is full of promise

In addition, more recent press has been overwhelmingly positive and a massive turnaround to its earlier poor showing at E3, with the only concern amongst journalists being that an hour of gameplay does not convey the true scope of the depths and complexities of gameplay and story. Other than that the only other bad press has been the dropping of 4player co-op which whilst perfectly capable within the code, has been dropped in preference of 2 player co-op as a result of exhaustive play testing and not wanting to change the single player gameplay dynamic to a disorganised multiplayer mess.

Personally the more I learn the more I realise this is a book who's cover barely hints at the depth and innovation inside. I'm fairly confident this will be a critical success, I just hope that all those fans of Action RPGs, looting, Matrix cyberpunk, Devil May Cry, Mass Effect and Diablo jump aboard and give the title a measure of financial success to ensure the trilogy continues. :)

It's my surprise hit for the year and I personally can't wait. :)

Intresting your 4 player co-op comment is confusing do you mean cut to 2 players when talking about code as in 4 player is beyond the capability of it?.

Could be an excuse but D.D has said that the chaos caused by that many players for that game made them chose 2 players due to D.D. *claiming* the game being play tested and folks found that two players was the best for the game(DD could be lieing).

When I say only the Story has been in development for 10 years I mean that they kept the concept alive but they have ran past versions of the game but those were not the Too Human of today(tech demo's etc). Just wanted to let it be known.

Obivously PS1 hardware is radically differnt from 360 hardware hence my replies to PS3 fans when they suggest this theory of a game being in development for ten years. They have the audacity to point out gameplay or graphics holding the 10 years time spent thoery overehead instead of having *POLISHED* reasoning/thought and saying the story better be good.

I'v been waiting for this for awhile on story alone I'v read things from the mo-capped martial arts master they used(wanted real fighting real masters used not the modern art show ballerina crap you see in popular Japanese flicks, games)to the Ice Age this story is set in thats actually the past and by the third game DD will tie the story to our current reality/time in the story.

Go back and look at the GDC 08 coverage and you'll find that the press response was overwhelmingly positive, despite their universal panning of the E3 2006 showing.

The comparisons to Diablo are flattering, but I suspect this game pushes well beyond that and its greatest problem with journalists and player may be that it's not so easily defined/pigeonholed as a traditional gaming genre/experience but is a a real genre-bender that breaks all kinds of gaming rules whilst also sticking to a very D&D like background mechanics. For example, the "Skate"/"Fight Night" combat is a lot of fun and awesome for combo building, but at first appears to be completely bonkers and foreign when you start off.

That Goblin Man story was awesome I wish they'd ramp that up. Maybe release it as a free doco on Live around E3. It really had me going for a while... and managed to get me really interested in Norse Mythology which I'd pretty much ignored prior, and heightened my interest in Too Human's story.

If that doco is any indication of Too Human's storytelling ability I suspect we're in for a treat. :)

It was very well done and had that Euro-documentary feel. Hope we get bit more intrigue about the Goblin-Man as well.

Norse Mythology is one of the greatest pantheons really. Odin his crew's a bunch o' badasses. Very nutty set-up tho... Been a while but I believe according to Norse Mythos, the universe was created from Adhumla the cosmic bovine chowin' down on the a salt lick mathat sprang from the loins of Ice-giants.. and how a cow and giant existed before the universe? you go me on that one :)

I think a WoW comparison is a bit of a tangent but I agree that Too Human has a lot of potential that isn't going to be conveyed by journalists or gamers who've played for an hour. Which is great as there'll be a demo out a full month prior to release, and gold copies sent to reviewers with enough time for multiple playthroughs so they can thoroughly "get it".

I'd also add that Too Human beyond it's developers outstanding pedigree must have something going for it when...

- The head of such an esteemed studio, known for his lacking public confidence, goes on the record and says that Too Human is better than any game they've ever made including their own personal favourite, Eternal Darkness.

- Microsoft financially secures the trilogy prior to the turn around of press opinions at GDC.

- Microsoft has the marketing muscle to push it (lets hope they use it!).

- The title caters to a wide variety of genres for gamers whilst also resurrecting a much maligned genre in the console space with very little competition for software sales.

- As for smiles, I've had a very big, cheesy one on my face all week that I just don't think will leave anytime soon. :)

Yeah that annoys me i kept a 360 and use that to get the free 360 games then sighn in with xb1.

It's because it's a 360 game and they had to have a payment attached to it. You can use a PayPal account instead, even one without a funding source.

It was released, they had to pull it from the shelves after the verdict

My guess is MS politely asked Epic. The product literally can't make anybody money, so why not allow a few hundred people that are still playing on 360 scoop it up?
