Of course it's not magic it's Technology !

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

LavaLampGoo4241d ago

But like everything else itll improve over time.. right?

kaiserfranz4241d ago

That's the unfortunate thing, to truly exploit DirectX 12 developers will need to put extra effort - and I'm sure not every one is going to do it.

Still, good to hear about Async Compute. Too bad it can't be properly employed on PC since NVIDIA architecture is so different.

Curious to see if Uncharted 4 is using Compute or not. By the way, Lords of the Fallen looks great

Volkama4241d ago

Nope naughty dog use actual magic, the cpu and gpu are both idle.

Pandamobile4241d ago

Of course Uncharted 4 will use "compute". If you're not using the GPU to it's full effect on the PS4, all you've got is a laptop GPU from 2011.

mochachino4240d ago

I thought ND said they already were using it.

Aurenar4241d ago

I hope that more and more games will adopt Mantle. My friends talk about it just fine.

Alexious4241d ago

It's very unlikely, as the developer said. Mantle is too limited by only being usable on AMD GPUs, DirectX 12 will sweep it off.

Lords of the Fallen sales top 2.5 million

Lords of the Fallen has sold over 2.5 MILLION copies!

As of end of February 2026, the game has officially broken even.

Huge thanks to every player, supporter, and fan who made this possible. More to come – stay tuned!

Daver69d ago

I don't understand why it's only 2.5m sales, the game was very good even when it launched.

Struggled with past reputation maybe, I think a lot of people were against the reboot from the start even though it was a solid game to say the least. I think the new game will do well, it's the first of theirs I'd consider buying day one.

Multiple reason i would say. It was Decent game, even with its issues on launch.
- The confusion of the title, as it is a semi-reboot/sequel, but with the same title as the first game.
- Because the original was so unpopular it had a hard time finding its audience through it.
- Because it is a soulslike, it has a hard time finding an audience.
- The noise on how the performance was on launch will always turn people away.
- The Game director is quite the personality, which has turned many off trying it out after all the fixes.
- The director going on about not having turned a profit on the game yet, making people think it isn't worth their time.
- The sequel going epic games exclusive, makes many not wanting to support the devs, because games can't be anywhere but steam apparently.
- probably several more reasons, but those are quite a few.

This game is actually so good. Miles ahead of the 2014 game. I'd say its to dark souls what Lies of P os to bloodborne

Darkseeker68d ago (Edited 68d ago )

I can't wait for Lord of the Fallen 2. I liked the first one better than Lies of P and I am glad I bought it day one. Certainly better than the 2014 one. Hell, it wasn't even from the same developer. Lies of P forces you to pretty much parry all the time, meh.
