This is the one thing in this game I actually liked when in the beta. Customization was pretty cool... but dear god the rest of it felt less than memorable.

Last gen graphics, pretty bad driving model, and car upgrades that seem to only adjust an invisible slider for your car's performance. I'd have to agree with you, the customization was pretty good in the game. Despite its flaws I still had fun playing the game and that's what matters to me. Its a buy in my book.

You just said a bunch of bad stuff that would make most people hate the game and then said it's a buy in your book. lol.

I got in to the tail end of the beta. while I had some fun playing I was left with a lot of questions.
1 is this a mmo style game with 100-1000 of players on the same servers driving around the country?
2 are there different meet up locations in the cities? like towns in a MMO where players can gather to hook up for crews and missions.
3 is this like other mmo's where they will be adding weekly or monthly content to extend beyond the level cap?
there are bugs to work out, but the game has some potential if done right.

1. No, not certain of the exact amount but I'm sure you you will never see more than 12 people at a time.
2. If you join a friends session and visa versa you should be able to meet up anywhere you want. As far as ive seen in the beta there is not central hub like Destiny's tower where you can organize.
3. I think the only content will be the usual new cars, missions type thing. Haven't heard of an exact time frame. I'm just basing this off of past games.

How a group of modders revived Ubisoft's cult driving game, The Crew

Back in 2023, Ubisoft announced it would shut down The Crew's servers on 31st March, 2024, which would make the game unplayable due to its always online requirements - even those with physical copies of the game were to be locked out. Needless to say, many were unhappy with Ubisoft's decision.

Some, though, decided not to just leave it there, and set about reviving the game on their own time and dime. Now a little over a year later, the fan lead Crew revival project - known as The Crew Unlimited - is gearing up for its release on 15th September.

Ubisoft holds firm in The Crew lawsuit: You don’t own your video games

Plaintiffs bring up a new claim, too, in amended complaint.

Christopher386d ago

***Replying to Ubisoft’s argument that the statute of limitations is up, the plaintiffs responded with their own photos of The Crew’s packaging, which states that the activation code for the game doesn’t expire until 2099; that’s an example of how Ubisoft “implied that [The Crew] would remain playable during this time and long thereafter,” per the amended complaint.***

I really hope this resonates with the judge on the two-sided talk Ubisoft has going on here. You can't have your cake and eat it as well, IMHO.

A few of more mishaps and Ubisoft won’t be around anymore anyway.

Assassin’s Creed and FarCry are keeping them alive right now, and it’s a shame. Tom Clancy games are at a minimum now, The Division had its run, Watch Dogs has come and gone, For Honor was something new-ish, their lacking in New IP, and their older franchises just aren’t getting the right love.

rainbow six siege is doing alright

neutralgamer1992386d ago

I hope the judge favors the consumers because it really sucks what thees companies are doing. I am sure these companies will simply change their user agreements to add these new "we don't own the games clauses"

Ubisoft keeps trying so hard to not want my money. I will oblige.

Good thing i haven't bought a Ubisoft game since ac origins, and even that was a mistake 😆

Levii_92385d ago

I haven’t bought a Ubisoft game since 2014 and i don’t plan to change that.

Jingsing385d ago

I haven't bought a Ubisoft game since Watch Dogs 3.

Funny, now Ubisoft doesn't own them anymore either.
