I am intrigued by the RPG elements.

RG_Dubz4255d ago

Was the only thing I disliked about the game, I hate how some of these developers just try to mash genres that don't really belong together..

Agent_hitman4255d ago

And since this game is also owned by Ubisoft. Do you guys think that both PS4 and X1 will both locked at 900p as well?

KingPin4255d ago

or they will pull a Final Fantasy move and lock the PC version as well just so there is no "better" version at all.

uth114255d ago

They did have a beta, wasn't it 1080p on both?

Whirlwind_Fanfare_084255d ago

Nope! 1080p confirmed on both now due to the 10% the bone got from removing kinect.

OT: glad they delayed it until 12/2 so they can get more feedback from the community to make it better and don't be a disaster like driveclub.
Oh wait, it's the PS store version of driveclub that's a mess! the hard copies has no problems from what i've heard. :P

The beta was sort of underwelming to me. Hopefully the fix a few things.

-When crashing into other vehicles it felt completely lame, looked like i was holding a july 4th sparkler or something.
-You were abel to upgrade and buy those points you can use to enhance your breaking or how much parts cost. Some of that was downright dumb, 5 pts to get 5% better breaking?
-Story was Meh, way too predictable and just overall not very intriguing (but i get its a racing game)
- Always online to play any aspect of this game is a turn off though. Even though driveclub is having a ton of issues you can play offline if that was The Crew it would be a coaster until they fix that.
-The Graphics were a little underwelming but the size of the game is large

THe cars seemed nice, the upgrading seemed interesting but seemed limited in the beta so hard to tell. If it dont get better i will probably pass on this one.

Thanks for the info. Either way, I'll except the critics before buying.
Since Watchdogs, I'm never buying one of Ubi's games without a solid good critic.

Wescyde4253d ago

NP, the game itself was not completely horrible. it will just depend really on what you feel is more important to you. If this game had the size and what seems like variety in gameplay and customization it seems to have + Need for speeds looks and crashes it would probably be a perfect game

T2X4255d ago

I hate to say this, but I deleted the beta after playing for about 20min. I know it's a beta, but it just wasn't that thrilling to me. The cops smashed me off the road 3 times in 20 min LOL! Hopefully others enjoy it. Just wasn't really for me I guess.

audiophile1014255d ago

guess you just suck at driving then

T2X4254d ago

I sucked at driving that sucky beta.

How a group of modders revived Ubisoft's cult driving game, The Crew

Back in 2023, Ubisoft announced it would shut down The Crew's servers on 31st March, 2024, which would make the game unplayable due to its always online requirements - even those with physical copies of the game were to be locked out. Needless to say, many were unhappy with Ubisoft's decision.

Some, though, decided not to just leave it there, and set about reviving the game on their own time and dime. Now a little over a year later, the fan lead Crew revival project - known as The Crew Unlimited - is gearing up for its release on 15th September.

Ubisoft holds firm in The Crew lawsuit: You don’t own your video games

Plaintiffs bring up a new claim, too, in amended complaint.

Christopher422d ago

***Replying to Ubisoft’s argument that the statute of limitations is up, the plaintiffs responded with their own photos of The Crew’s packaging, which states that the activation code for the game doesn’t expire until 2099; that’s an example of how Ubisoft “implied that [The Crew] would remain playable during this time and long thereafter,” per the amended complaint.***

I really hope this resonates with the judge on the two-sided talk Ubisoft has going on here. You can't have your cake and eat it as well, IMHO.

ABizzel1421d ago

A few of more mishaps and Ubisoft won’t be around anymore anyway.

Assassin’s Creed and FarCry are keeping them alive right now, and it’s a shame. Tom Clancy games are at a minimum now, The Division had its run, Watch Dogs has come and gone, For Honor was something new-ish, their lacking in New IP, and their older franchises just aren’t getting the right love.

rainbow six siege is doing alright

neutralgamer1992422d ago

I hope the judge favors the consumers because it really sucks what thees companies are doing. I am sure these companies will simply change their user agreements to add these new "we don't own the games clauses"

victorMaje422d ago

Ubisoft keeps trying so hard to not want my money. I will oblige.

isarai422d ago

Good thing i haven't bought a Ubisoft game since ac origins, and even that was a mistake 😆

Levii_92421d ago

I haven’t bought a Ubisoft game since 2014 and i don’t plan to change that.

Jingsing421d ago

I haven't bought a Ubisoft game since Watch Dogs 3.

vTuro24422d ago

Funny, now Ubisoft doesn't own them anymore either.
