Bayonetta 2 Impressions

There are two major titles coming to the Wii U in the next few weeks, one of those is the juggernaut, the commercial beast, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U while the other is Bayonetta 2. While the latter will certainly not set the world on fire in the same the former will, it is still a massive title with a lot of potential to be one of the best games of 2014. The demo for Bayonetta 2 has been released in Europe (No word on when America will receive it) so GamersFTW had a chance go hands on with the game.

I think this game looks current gen, 1080p 60fps with that much going on, on screen, common. The game looks and plays great.

If you look at Bayonetta 1 vs 2 you can clearly see this game is visually superior to last gen.

It's a very clean 720p. But yeah I played the demo the other night and it surprised me.

Considering the Wii U is built on older processes (45/55nm) and uses almost no power and runs almost silent it can really pump out some impressive visuals. A definite step up from last gen.

It looks far better than 720P man. First off it just looks a ton better than 720P. Second this article is why I think it is higher as well.

Here is a quote from that article:

The gaming publication Siliconera has claimed that Bayonetta 2 is rendered in 1080p. We already know the game aims for 60FPS, and from the demo builds it’s been pretty much confirmed it holds that framerate most of the time. Here what they had to say about Bayonetta 2 below.

I don’t know what the inspiration for Bayonetta 2 was, but it’s clear it went through the “crash and build” process. 1080p clarity clear, in fact

It may not be native but it is definitely rendered in 1080P which is going to look far better than any form of 720P which this game does.

Why Bayonetta 3 Is a Step Down From Its Predecessor

Many fans have been expressing their disappointment with Bayonetta 3. Here's why the recently released game is a clear step down from Bayonetta 2.

MadLad1275d ago (Edited 1275d ago )

Yet the Switch is much more powerful than the Wii U - the platform the second game released on. So you're just being negative to be negative with that comment.

anast1275d ago

The voice acting wasn't as good...

jBlakeeper1275d ago

Bayonetta herself doesn’t even look as good design wise.

-Foxtrot1274d ago

I thought they focused on big kaiju like fights which felt gimmicky and thy brought this new character in to try and get away from the leading star

*Spoilers*

I mean they pretty much killed 3 big characters. They killed Jeanne, Luka and Bayonetta herself and it's not the fact they died it's how they died, we've seen Jeanne and Bayonetta survive countless things yet they go out by the lamest ways possible.
