Many indie games are very similar to old school titles but a lot of them are cleverly developed with fresh ideas that give a new spin in nostalgia for many old school gamers. Some even say that indie developers are a godsend as we see many titles very similar to their predecessors. It's shooter this, racer that, rinse and repeat.

The negativity they have received is well deserved. Indie devs are like special needs children.

There's no negativity, it's because most people are being exposed to them via PS+ and XBL and everyone wants decent games they can identify rather than some throwaway games that look like they were derived from a browser based flash game.
People that talk crap about indie games just becuse they're indie are just narrow minded people that can't open themselves up to all kinds of gaming experiences.
I love indie games. My only issue with Indie games now is that they're all starting to look the same. There's indie games following the same style as others over and over again. You know the type...

Not that those types of games aren't a bad thing, but after while you run into a TON of them. There are a few Indie Games that stand out of the pack though.
I think it's quite warranted. I'd laugh if Phil Fish was killed, by the way. The negativity we give to people like him and all other SJW filth just isn't enough if you ask me. He'd look good in a whole lot of pieces at the bottom of a skyscraper he just fell off of, you know?
