Many fans would love to see Resident Evil 7 return to its roots, most believe it probably won’t, and Capcom would love to convince you it will. This is nothing new. Capcom has been promising Resident Evil would return to its classic survival horror style ever since it departed from that style with Resident Evil 4.

Capcom has announced and released the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 on Steam.

WTMG's Leo Faria: "It’s been nearly ten years, but Resident Evil 7 hasn’t aged a day. Its brand new Switch 2 port not only showcases that its gameplay is still fresh and tense after all these years, but also showcases how well Nintendo’s portable can handle some of the more demanding games from the previous generation, with a handful of improvements to make it look as good as its current-gen counterparts. There’s also the fact there’s a ton of extra content for you to enjoy, from videos to entire new modes and side campaigns, so this is a worthy inclusion to the Switch 2’s currently minute library, and a great excuse for you to replay one of the most important horror games released in recent memory."

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard returns the series to its horror roots, and on the Nintendo Switch 2, you can take those frights everywhere.
Shame but no
They said RE5 was returning to it's roots, then RE6, then they counted on Revelations which got a few things right but nothing big....now they are riding on Revelations 2 that it's a return to horror.
It's Capcom, they'd rather keep doing what they are doing and lie about their game because like most Japanese companies they can't admit when they are in the wrong.
I doubt it too much but would great either way

Would be a relief, but the action far surpasses the survival horror portion of modern RE games. Of course I have my doubts for RE 7. Only time will tell.
No, they already said so...

They'll probably say it will in order to generate hype. Much like how RE6 was 'a return to it's roots' and RE5 before that, I believe.
REmake is about the best you're going to get.
