Microsoft spends money for exclusive UT DLC and marketing. Sony gets the sales. Guess they are happy this way for not paying any of the commercials.

This is surprising, its even sold 1.3m on ps3! Xbox used to own the FIFA market.

and with the launch of all those countries dying off the China launch will be unable to make up for it. PS4 has lead every week this year something even Wii couldn't do for an entire calendar year. Perhaps November will bring the first deviation from this pattern.

Asian consumers are smart shoppers, they will gladly pay for quality, but dont expect them to pay the same $$$ for inferior hardware, as in Xbox One.

I sense a 2nd golden age like the PS2 era coming via PS4.

Completely agree. Although I forgot Fifa was launching, I would have never thought it was going to sell over 1 million consoles for the month of September. I would have said 800k at best. The PS4 is just beastin' though this generation. EU is PlayStationNationDomination, NA, JP, and China should be their next focus (although their winning NA, it's not the stomping grounds they have in the EU).

I doubt PS4 will be launching in China this year. You'd think it would have been announced already. Could be wrong we'll see.

I would assume that both consoles would be neck and neck if China did buy 100k XBO's day 1. I expect sales to drop for both platforms after the Fifa launch, and looking at the numbers now the XBO is just 100k sales behind the PS4.

In the end it won't matter unless China consistently buys 100k per week, in which case you better believe Sony and Nintendo are going to do their best to make it into the Chinese market by years end, because as of now the PS4 has sold over 1 million consoles for September, with the Xbox taking second place at 750k tops (and that's including the 100k for china).

Sales do matter, in terms of software . Because if a new ip sells good, that gamers love, then that means, we could get a sequel the we can play !

We care about gaming. That's why we bought PlayStations. But hey, stay salty buddy.

The better your console does in sales, the more support (aka games) it receives. And who doesn't want a healthy console? No one lines up to buy a potential bust.

It's called being informed.

First off the PS4 isn't winning because of hype, it's winning because:

1. MS's awful policies (which have changed, but most people won't forgive so soon).

2. The library between the PS4 and XBO aren't that different (PS4 has more games, XBO has more of their established franchises on their console).

3. PS4 was $100 cheaper and more powerful than the XBO, so most intelligent people who planned on getting both to being with, simply bought the PS4 first, and waited for an XBO price drop (saving them $100).

4. The PlayStation brand is globally a stronger brand than Xbox and even Nintendo "WHEN IT COMES TO CONSOLES". Which is why the 4 PlayStation consoles are almost on par with the sales of all the Xbox and Nintendo consoles combined (had the Wii not won over the casuals chances are the PS brand would be higher).

5. Every generation has been like that, where the most popular generally breaks away in sales. SNES, PSOne, PS2, Wii (although 360 took that shine later in the generation for the US, while PS3 still managed to hang on and comeback).

6. PlayStation games offer tons of diversity and something for everyone on a scale Nintendo and MS have yet to achieve. Both Nintendo and MS have diverse games, but Sony makes it an effort to get niche, unique, and exclusive games on their console.

Things have never been even, until Sony released a $600 PS3, compared to a $300 entry price 360 and $250 Wii ($550 for 2 consoles vs. $600 for one). SNES beat the Genesis by a good margin. PSOne thrashed the competition selling more than both consoles combined and multiplied by 2x. PS2 completely murdered the competition selling more than all 3 combined and almost multiplied by 3x. The only generation that was close was last gen, and in hindsight Sony would have got rid of Ken Kutaragi earlier and never been in that position.

This is exactly why I feel there needs to be a 3 platform future since it would balance sales out for all 3 by allowing each of them to have platforms that could potentially sell in the 100m range which would be an enormous benefit to gaming. PlayStation consoles will stay the console route, Xbox will produce PConsoles for all purpose uses (the console boots in Xbox game mode, but can boot in full Windows if you need it), and Nintendo should focus on a handheld-hybrid console.

Going toe to toe with PlayStation on the consoles market is a losing battle, if Sony isn't bringing a $600+ console.

I was specifically reffering to the 360 catching Wii in US, and the PS3 still managing to comeback and outsell 360 on a worldwide scale.

As far as the PS2 goes, it wasn't the cheaper or simpler console to develop for at all. As a matter of fact the GC was cheaper, and the PS2 was the hardest to develop for. It sold off the fact that the PSOne was such a success, and people wanted a successor to that. Also technically speaking the NES and SNES were back to back winners as well (TurboGrafx and Atari 7800 was NES competition).

Who, and how when they still ended up coming in last place overall. The fact the PS3 was able to make up a years sales difference, get past all the negative criticisms, and save the PS3 from a $600 death price, and beat the 360 was evidence enough that at worse this was going to be a competitive gen between Sony and MS, with Sony most likely winning. PS3 outsold the 360 almost the entire generation at $100 - $200 more than the 360, who on earth believed MS was going to win this gen when both consoles started at a level playing field.

If the XBO didn't have all these issues, it would be a much closer battle (I'd say PS4 10m, XBO and Wii U 7m), but they would still be losing. The PS3 was Sony's worst consoles (situationally) and they still managed to beat MS at their best, this generation is proving the same can't be said for MS. If Sony was still able to squeeze out a win against MS at their worst, what happens when they're at their best.

There are about 20 articles and not one has proof they sold 100k they only have the news MS sent out 100k , unless they managed to sell out which I very much doubt, then they didnt sell 100k. Next weeks numbers will have chinas and no matter what they sold I guarantee they sales drop like a boulder the week after.

Or maybe a game of cat and mouse if they're so fixated on his death. This guy single-handedly killed half of the Fireflies. He's a wanted man. They find out where he is and start hunting him down. Ellie hates him now, but he doesn't want to get her into this mess so he leaves Tommy and the little happy town to not cause them trouble. Trouble comes knocking anyway. You play as both Joel trying to lay low and evade his hunters and Ellie setting out trying to find him. He either dies mid-way fighting for his life or meets up with Ellie, they make up, get in a tight situation where he defends her and still die.

Too much cheese, not enough shock, though.
