Sony Online Entertainment, developer of online PC first-person shooter, PlanetSide 2, has coded out the ability to "tea-bag" other players.

But I suppose it is sexual assault, at least in the same way as when you "shoot another player" and "kill them".

I am aware that those things are still allowed, but still... I wouldn't say he is using the wrong terminology.

Teabagging doesn't add much to the experience, and a F2P game is open to a wide audience so imo it's probably good on them to try to provide a decent environment for people to play in.

Probably futile though. They can censor the content of their game, but they may as well give up trying to censor the people that play it.

This all started thanks to Patricia Hernandez, Kotaku's rapist expert. When CoD ghost showed the female character, she said was, tea-baggin is rape now... just cus the avatar is a female...

Destiny doesn't want you to talk to people because you might hear bad words

PS2 doesn't want you to be able to stand up from crouching near a dead body because it might be seen as sexual assault

It's like ratings have no bearing anymore, they don't want bullying on games rated T and M because little kids convince their moronic parents to let them play it, then cry about verbal abuse and how it's "cyber bullying". I think anyone over 14 has the mental capacity to realize there's a mute button, and that T-bagging really isn't that bad, it's not like they're literally rubbing their balls on you.

You're right, we don't need babysitting, and anyone who does shouldn't be playing.

With the way things are going, in a few years there won't be a need to add "Online interactions not rated by the ESRB" as there won't be any online interactions to speak of, even in multiplayer-only games.

Yes but which of those gets in the way of profits? My friends half brother who is 7 stopped playing black ops (or as he pronounces it "black cops") because some guy called him a loser. Yes, loser, that was all it took, which is silly in itself but kids get upset by that and don't realize there's a mute button, so the only way for them to retain this huge customer base of children is to take steps against it. It's idiotic.

(I don't agree with the steps taken by devs to end online abuse, I think a mute button works just fine, and anyone who is offended by T-bagging should grow up, be it literally or figuratively.)

But basically Black Ops is a game that should be played by 18+ people (hence it was rated that) , so when you're telling me a kid gets upset by the word loser , it isn't the game's fault but the people who let their child play the game in the first place.

If such change doesn't impact the game play or fun factor, then it doesn't bother me. If it however in some way negatively affects the game play experience, then it's bs.
